Big Brother has been a CBS summer staple for a long time, and although the network runs some scripted programming during the warmer months, it has decided to really beef up its reality TV series offerings. Enter the Love Island TV show which airs five nights a week. Is this a heaven-made match for the Tiffany Network audience? Will Love Island be cancelled or renewed for season two? A CBS dating reality TV show, Love Island is based on the British series of the same name. Arielle Vandenberg hosts the matchmaking program, which unfolds on a tropical island, where single “Islanders” meet and romance each other, hoping to form a relationship. “Islanders” who don’t manage to become part of a couple are at risk for elimination. From time to time, the show introduces new people to the mix to shake things up. The two contestants who are still part of a couple at the season’s end win the game and the chance to leave with both love and a cash prize.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly on the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. Five days a week was, like, just, like, overkill. By the last week, like, I couldn’t even, like, watch anymore. And, like, at the end of the day, like, I have no idea of, like, the outcome and don’t, like, even care, at the end of the day. I, like, won’t be getting, like, sucked into this hot mess again, like, next season, at the end of the day.

I agree with John. I’ve found other shows I want to watch – not Love Island. Now I don’t turn in to Big Brothers as I used to. CBS is usually better than this. Now you lost me.
Thank you CBS for forcing me to surf the channels. In doing that I found out that there are far better than this. I plan on staying with some of them. Thank you CBS

This show is going to get cancelled soooo very hard. It’s being beat consistently by reruns and hasn’t topped 0.5 in demo since it’s premiere. These numbers are atrocious and most definitely the last thing CBS expected when they acquired the show after it’s success abroad.
Who knew that taking something that is uncensored and free-spirited in the UK and applying America’s puritanical broadcasting standards to it would suck all the fun out of things, WHO KNEW!
