School’s out forever. The Quad TV show had been cancelled after its second season on BET. The news that there will be no third season comes six days after the April 3rd season two finale, “#TheColorPurple,” which will now serve as The Quad TV series finale.
A BET college drama, The Quad stars Anika Noni Rose, Jake Allyn, Sean Blakemore, Aeja Lee, Ruben Santiago-Hudson, Jazz Raycole, Zoe Renee, Peyton ‘Alex’ Smith, Michelle DeFraites, Kevin Savage, Tyshon Freeman, RonReaco Lee, Debbi Morgan, Sheryl Lee Ralph, and Jasmine Guy. The story unfolds at Georgia A&M University, one of the nation’s most prestigious HBCUs (Historically Black Colleges and Universities). As college president, Dr. Eva Fletcher (Rose) has to balance her personal life with her career and the needs of the institution and her students.
The Quad: A Look at the Ratings
The second season of The Quad averaged a 0.22 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 553,000 viewers. Compared to season one, that’s down by 28% and 31%, respectively. For comparisons, check out the ratings of other scripted BET TV shows.
The cancellation comes after a string of executive shakeups at the Viacom-owned cabler. In December, Scott M. Mills was tapped to serve as the new president BET, with Debra Lee staying on as chairman and CEO. Prior to that, several top BET programming executives exited the company last March.

Very disappointed to find that the show has been cancelled!!!!!!!! I attempted to search for the show to setup recording on my DVR. BET got this one wrong.
This was a VERY good show. It should be brought back. Maybe you should advertise it better. What the world needs to see is black people being educated and in positive roles.
There needs to be a season 3. I just looked on the internet to see when the next session comes and to see that the show has been canceled. That’s not right. That show was good. Please bring a 3seson back.

There should be a third season for The Quad. It depicts the issues that the black community are faced with on a daily basis, and for once there is a show that gives us a voice. One that we can relate to, one that we are able to voice our options without being ridicule. This show needs a third season

Bring the show back. I have been waiting for Season 3. It was an excellent depiction of black college life and the black community. So many helpful themes of transformative impact.
Extremely disappointed that The Quad has been cancelled after only 2 seasons. As a fan, what course of actions can we take ( positive of course) to influence BET to give this show another chance to continue to display US in a positive light?
What a disappointment. Not sure why the ratings dropped off but I loved this show.

BET hasn’t really been for black people in a very long time. Most of the shows they love to keep and renew are shows that show us in a negative stereotypical light.. this show was their first step in the right direction in a very long time. I’m really sad to see it go.
The way Season 2 ended there needs to be a Season 3. I personally believe when the students became United as one that could have caused conflicts with many different viewers who may have different view points. I am personally disappointed that there will not be a season 3 to an amazing show. But thanks to the cast and producers of the show. You all did an amazing job.
I totally agree with mr Jones – every time a black show starts honing in on real situations we encounter the show always get canceled. More importantly all of these dumb white show continues to air. We need to support us more
100% agree with you. That’s what I wanted to comment: Whenever you decide to end a show, I think The Powers That Be owe it to viewers and cast and crew to put a pin in it. As it stands now, there was no closire, and that is disappointing.
I loved watching the quad I hate it’s not coming back
It’s really a shame that a show that so closely mirrors real life is not accepted for another season for proposed resolutions to current day issues
The show was well scripted and the actors were wonderful and believable.
I really wish Viacom would take a second look a this decision.
It is very disappointing, a REAL show which scoped REAL LIFE issues that Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) are faced with on our campuses. We were looking so forward to seeing Season 3 closing the previous seasons dilemmas and drawing us in for new ones.
The Quad was well scripted and the actors were incredible, which had me hook and ready with anticipation for the next episode.
It’s TRULY a BIG letdown to not at least give us closure to what could have been a GRAND FINALE with season 3.
Im disappointed that there will not be a season three . it talked about real issues and it showed that it was not all party school.
