canceled + renewed TV shows - TV Series Finale

Rise TV show on NBC: season 1 viewer votes episode ratings (cancel renew season 2?)

(Peter Kramer / NBC)

Does the first season of the Rise TV show on NBC lift your spirits? As we all know, the Nielsen ratings typically play a big role in determining whether a TV show like Rise is cancelled or renewed for season two. Unfortunately, most of us do not live in Nielsen households. Because many viewers feel frustration when their viewing habits and opinions aren’t considered, we’d like to offer you the chance to rate all of the Rise season one episodes here.

An NBC high school drama, Rise stars Josh Radnor, Rosie Perez, Auli’i Cravalho, Damon J. Gillespie, Marley Shelton, Rarmian Newton, Ted Sutherland, Amy Forsyth, Casey W. Johnson, Taylor Richardson, Joe Tippett, and Shirley Rumier. The series centers on Lou Mazzuchelli (Radnor), who is the fictional analogue to Lou Volpe in the Michael Sokolov book, Drama High. Although he is committed to his students at Stanton High School, Lou knows he needs to shake things up, in order to rekindle his passion for teaching. To that end, he petitions to direct the school’s theater program, but soon realizes he signed up for a whole lot more than he originally expected. Soon though, the faculty, student body, and even the town residents find themselves caught up in the new spirit at the school.

What do you think? Which season one episodes of the Rise TV series do you rate as wonderful, terrible, or somewhere between? Should NBC cancel or renew Rise for a second season? Don’t forget to vote, and share your thoughts, below.

5/11/18 update: NBC has cancelled Rise so there won’t be a second season. Details here.

It’s not a reality show, but better. This show is more real and more relatable in anybody’s life, then those reality shows they have on tv.

I loved every single episode. The only other shows I watch religiously are “This is Us” and “The Big Bang Theory”. Both I watched since season 1… I cannot believe that this won’t continue!!

I don’t understanding why this show was cancelled? It was original and true to life. I watched it every single week. I connected with every actor on this show and I am truly disappointed to not see what becomes of these characters. There is so much garbage on regular t.v. these days. You will continue to lose viewers to Netflix, Hulu, Epic etc.

I think Rise was the best new show of this season for all stations. I’m really sorry to hear it won’t be back for a Season 2. Please reconsider!

Please don’t cancel Rise!!!!!! It is 1 of the only shows I watch. I love this show and how it displays everyone coming together about everyday issues (some of which some people don’t regularly talk about) but just the overall of it made it great! #nbc #bringriseback #dontcancelrise #wrongdecisionnbc

You all should be ashamed, taking Rise off the air. Is it just violence that your audience craves ? What’s happening to our country and it’s people ? So sad

Totally disappointed that the show has been cancelled. Please do the right thing and reconsider, bring it back, please!!! The ONLY show we make sure not to miss, hate for each week’s episode to end, the only show we look forward to and can’t wait for Tuesday night! As soon as it’s over, we start waiting for the next episode! We have many family discussions about the different issues portrayed in the show! The acting and singing is exceptional! There is so much crap shows on television, WHY would you cancel this excellent show? Very disappointed in NBC

I am heartbroken to learn this show is cancelled. I don’t watch much TV any longer because the few that are remarkable and like they cancel, even if it’s popular. Everyone I talk to loves this show. Every actor excelled at what they did and it’s a sad loss of great talent. Cancelling was a big mistake.

This is the best show on TV. The finale was nothing short of phenomenal. We have a country in crisis now. This show is so timely. It addresses the core split that threatens to destroy us now. So well done. Please – say yes to a season 2. Your audience will explode.

This show is outstanding and should not be cancelled. There are so few shows with such a great cast and story line, I would not like to see you cancel such a special show. Anyone who watches this show, Rise, I am sure will feel the same way. Do not cancel, Please.
