CBS has just six timeslots designated for half-hour comedies and most of the slots are filled with established shows. It can be tough for any new show to gain traction these days and sitcoms are no exception. Will Ghosts be cancelled or renewed for season two? Stay tuned. *Status Update Below.
A single-camera supernatural comedy series, the Ghosts TV show stars Rose McIver, Utkarsh Ambudkar, Brandon Scott Jones, Richie Moriarty, Asher Grodman, Rebecca Wisocky, Sheila Carrasco, Danielle Pinnock, Roman Zaragoza, and Devan Chandler Long. Freelance journalist Samantha (McIver) and Jay (Ambudkar), an up-and-coming chef, are a couple from the city. They throw caution (and their money) to the wind when they decide to convert a huge rundown country estate they inherited into a bed & breakfast. They discover the hitch is that it’s inhabited by many spirits of deceased residents. The departed souls are a close-knit, eclectic group but, if they were anxious about the commotion that a renovation and a B&B would create in their home, it’s nothing compared to what happens when they realize that Samantha is the first live person who can see and hear them.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s chances of staying on the air. The higher the ratings, the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.
4/22 update: You can see the latest night’s ratings in context.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
Note: These are the final national ratings, including all live+same day viewing and DVR playback (through 3:00 AM). Early fast affiliate ratings (estimates) are indicated with an “*”. While these numbers don’t include further delayed or streaming viewing, they are a very good indicator of how a show is performing, especially when compared to others on the same channel. There can be other economic factors involved in a show’s fate, but typically the higher-rated series are renewed and the lower-rated ones are cancelled.
What do you think? Do you like the Ghosts TV series on CBS? Should it be cancelled or renewed for a second season?
*1/25/22 update: Ghosts has been renewed for a second season on CBS.
This is really a great show! Don’t cancel! There’s no politics, no name calling, or murders. Just some good programming!
It’s a good show you should not cancel
Funny and clean comedy that I don’t mind watching with my Family. Please do not cancel!!
Ghosts is THE best sitcom to come along in years. It’s bright, funny, intelligent, and appeals sophisticated humor. No laugh track, thank God! Why would it need one. Fans of Ghosts are bright enough to know what is funny and this show ranges from funny to HILARIOUS !! I love it ! I will now train myself to watch on a more timely schedule to appease the raters even though I prefer to accumulate several episodes and Bing. Can’t there be a better system ? I would sit through every commercial just to make it known I love this show… Read more »

Please make more seasons of Ghosts! Great show! Me and my family watch it every week! Would live to have season 2 as an hour show! It is always funny but goes by too quick! Either way, please renew it!
Keep it going, great sitcom!!
Luv it! Please don’t cancel it!!!
Phenomenal series. You can’t ask for a better star than Rose McIver
As a fan of the British (original) of this show, I found this one completely lacked anything new, fresh or original. It is basically an exact copy but with Americans, for better and worse. If you’re going to remake something, do it better, or differently enough to make it worthwhile, regrettably in this case none of this has happened.
It’s actually a pretty competent Americanized version of the show, capturing the goofiness and spirit of the original, while adding more feel-good sentimentality that mainstream US comedy audience enjoy. I’m a fan of both. The US version of the Office leaned heavily on the original in the first few episodes, with Americanized versions of all the major characters, but it forged its own path over time and was highly successful over its 9 seasons. Given it’s off to a good start, quality-wise and in the ratings, the US version of Ghosts has a great chance to repeat the success of… Read more »
I’m English Canadian and I just love the show Ghosts wouldn’t miss it for anything
I’m English. I love the UK version of this show. I was a bit worried that the humour and ethos of the programme wouldn’t carry over when rewritten for US audiences but in fact, the writers have done a brilliant job and in some respects, improved it. Having said that, the humour is still very British and I only hope it’s been ‘Americanised’ enough for it to be a success as I really hope there will be a season 2.
I generally don’t watch comedies, too many rude, smart mouth kids. This one had me laughing.
Funny. Best new comedy
I actually got a few laughs out of this show! Always grateful for that. I will continue to watch.
