What’s This TV Show About?
A dark comedy-drama on the Ovation premium cable channel, The Halcyon stars Steven Mackintosh, Olivia Williams, Kara Tointon, Alex Jennings, Matt Ryan, Hermione Corfield, Mark Benton, Sope Dirisu, Liz White, Charity Wakefield, Annabelle Apsion, Jamie Blackley, Edward Bluemel, Nick Brimble, Michael Carter, Akshay Kumar, Imogen Waterhouse, Nico Rogner, Kevin Eldon, and Lauren Coe.
A World War II period piece, The Halcyon centers on a five-star London hotel, its owner, Lord Lawrence Hamilton (Jennings), his neglected wife, Lady Priscilla (Williams), the staff, headed up by Richard Garand (Mackintosh), and guests, including war correspondent Joe O’Hara (Ryan) in 1940s London. At The Halcyon, love, hate, friendships, rivalries, politics, and relationships bloom and change as the Second World War makes its mark on Londoners and London, herself.

Very few good shows on. This was one.
Please bring back Halycon. Such an intriguing wartime presentation. Classy and truly informative. Everything on tv is so air your dirty laundry that learning about real life history is so much more intresting.

So disappointed that the second series was cancelled. Quality should be recognised. We are subjected to watching second rate rubbish on tv and I am baffled as to why a second series was turned down. Who is making these appalling decisions?? Let’s see a second series PLEASE!

Please don’t cancel this show. The acting is great and I love the time period that it is set in. I don’t know why cancelling this show would be a consideration. It’s a great show!

this was a story that takes place during the Blitz in London in 1940 at the beginning of World War II. That time and place was arguably one of the most exciting times and places to be in the 20th century. Somebody needs to pick this show up and run it. It is very well done and is my favorite äshow on television. In my opinion this was the best show on tv this season, X-company (which has already been cancelled) is a terrible show, Please bring back the Halcyon.

I really enjoyed this show. Everything about it was great! SO DISAPPOINTED TO LEARN THAT IT HAS BEEN CANCELLED!! Please bring it back. It was a new favorite for me.
I’m in the U.S. and this was the best show I have seen in a long time. U.S. TV is really low brow junk so please have mercy and reconsider a second season and get some US advertising or something! The only reason I found the show was because I imdb’d Jamie Blackley!
