Procedurals usually fare pretty well on CBS, but the old standbys like the NCIS franchise and Blue Bloods are starting to show some wear and tear. Enter the new Instinct TV show, based on the James Patterson novel, Murder Games. Should fans trust the Tiffany Network’s gut on this one? Will Instinct be cancelled or renewed for season two? A crime thriller, Instinct stars Alan Cumming, Bojana Novakovic, Daniel Ings, Naveen Andrews, and Sharon Leal. The CBS drama centers on Dr. Dylan Reinhart (Cumming), a former CIA operative who is lured out of his peaceful retirement as a university professor and author, to help NYPD Detective Lizzie Needham (Novakovic) catch a serial killer. Dylan’s old CIA colleague, Julian Cousins (Andrews), lends a hand, along with Lizzie’s C.O., Lt. Jasmine Gooden (Leal). Meanwhile, Dylan’s husband, Andy (Ings), worries his spouse has forsaken their agreement to permanently leave his past in the past.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly in the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. The only show worth watching. It is entertaining, amusing and has enough intrigue to keep it interesting. The actors are great!
I am very fond of the show and just like Mark… have missed it the past 2 weeks. Our household usually watches the Rockets or Astros and usually DVR it so not to miss. Great cast. Love the criminal psychology attributes. We are just now starting to see the softer human side of the female cop. Great call to renew!
I love the show! I have enjoyed each episode and really enjoy the friendship and bond that the two are developing with one another, both as work partners and friends. This is a very refreshing show and I’ve missed seeing the show the past two Sundays!
Please keep this show. Alan Cummings is deliciously witty, well, sarcastically delicious. Only show I look forward to watch on Sunday.

Anything with Alan Cumming in it is worth watching. Writers might want to work a little harder though. BBC writers have no trouble writing intriguing police dramas.

Cumming is outstanding and he is surrounded by some proven talent. We watch shows differently now. I’m not always ready to watch a show such as “Instinct” in real time. Maybe I’m trying to multitask, and would rather watch when I can devote all of my attention. Develop a more comprehensive rating system. It’s not fair to people who don’t just stare at the TV from 8pm-11pm, or work off-shifts. I really enjoy this show!
If this week’s ratings are an indication of future ratings, CBS likely won’t keep Instinct around. If they rebound back to 1.0 it likely will survive. But losing so many viewers from last week to other shows starting at the same don’t doesn’t bode well.
Time to cancel Instinct, not into the political garbage

I always really liked Alan Cumming. Then I saw him bad mouth our President and decided not to watch it. Same as with Greys Anatomy when Ellen Pompeo said she does not want Trump supporters watching her show. It is amazing the sponsors continue to support these shows. I want to be entertained, not preached to.

I love this show. Alan has just the right serious tone along with a twinkle in his eye at the appropriate moments. I loved his comment to the detective when she assumed his spouse was a women.
the premier was cut in half because of 60 minutes i was very disaponinted and waited months for the premier of this new show, have no clue how it ended thanks……….
