Looks like Lucifer Morningstar isn’t quite a lucky devil any longer. His show’s ratings have fallen year after year and so, FOX has cancelled its Lucifer TV show. Sadly, fans of the supernatural crime drama won’t be seeing a fourth season this fall.
A FOX comedy-drama, Lucifer stars Tom Ellis, Lauren German, DB Woodside, Lesley-Ann Brandt, Kevin Alejandro, Rachael Harris, Aimee Garcia, Tricia Helfer, Scarlett Estevez, and Tom Welling. The supernatural procedural centers on Lucifer Morningstar (Ellis) who abandoned his throne, retired to Los Angeles, opened up a nightclub, and started helping LAPD Detective Chloe Decker (German) crack cases.
Lucifer: A Look at the Ratings
The third season of Lucifer is averaging a 0.83 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 3.30 million viewers. Compared to season two, that’s down by 20% and down by 10%, respectively. While those declines aren’t huge, the series has seen dips in its ratings each season and the series could easily have been cancelled before. Apparently, the ratings dipped just a bit too low.
Out of the scripted FOX TV shows we’re tracking, Lucifer ranks 13th in terms of its demo performance and rises to 10th place in terms of average total audience size.
Lucifer showrunner Joe Henderson broke the bad news this afternoon.
So… yeah. #Lucifer has been cancelled. And it fucking HURTS. I loved this show so damn much and everyone put their heart and soul into it. Heartbreaking doesn't begin to describe.

The defacto series finale airs Monday, May 14th.
What do you think? Did you think FOX would renew Lucifer for season four? Are you sorry that the network has cancelled this Monday night series?
Bad writing killed another great show. It’s like fox puts its best writers on a show’s first season, and then moves down the ranks as the show continues, as if fan momentum is sufficient.
We’re probably pretty close to intern writers by season 4.
Seriously, besides the blatant right-wing fake news and mind-numbibgly stupid “reality” shows, has fox ever kept a live-action show longer than 3-4 seasons?
Really going to miss this show, only reason I really watch Fox, guess I won’t be watching now. This show was different which is why the ratings maybe weren’t the greatest but that is what I loved about the show.
I loved this show and it’s actors! How could Fox cancel it??It’s so different from the other ones and that made it unique..I still remember how impatient i was to watch each released episode. Going to Twitter to fight for it!!
Gutted.
Don’t Cancel Lucifer… This is one of my Favorite show… It’s funny, good script and you never know what to expect next… to much story left unfinished… This one is a keeper FOX ….
Cant believe it! Lucifer was one of the better shows on TV. Got rid of sleepy Hollow, now Lucifer? Come on guys. Only good news is I heard you picked up last man standing, I guess I will still only be watching only 1 show on your network. I also quit watching football,
NO, NO, NOOOOOOOOOOOO! Please no cancel! Love Lucifer in Italy!! iI feel how you killed friends of my family: i love all the characters of this show: Lucy, Chloe, Linda, Dan, Trixie. It’s the light of my mondays….
One if the best shows on tv , do not cancel
I done with Fox also
Don’t cancel Lucifer. It is one of the reasons I watch Fox ],
Extremely disappointed to hear that Lucifer has been cancelled. It was something different with a fun cast. Network shows that I can actually bear to watch are dwindling quickly. They continue to cancel good shows just as viewers become invested. Well, guess I’m done with Fox. Lucifer was the only show I watched on their network.
Love Lucifer in Australia!! It’s only just being picked up here. My family is distraught and it’s messsages are real. So upset….
Ted what a bummer.
Why on earth would anyone watch fox tv spending all that time watching tv with programs with no proper endings. who ever is in charge of making these desissions should be sacked. no more fox tv for me.
This is an amazing show, season three started slow but by the end was epic. I feel a real affinity with the characters and was excited to see where it was going. This show is one of the best and should be allowed a few more seasons to let the fans get more fans. To the cast and obviously crew thank you, an amazing series which was unique, funny, serious and at times thought provoking. If it doesn’t come back it would be a loss to the world. To Fox you need to come and speak to me directly to… Read more »
