The Suits TV show was a big success for USA Network and ran for many seasons. Unfortunately, the same can’t be said for the Pearson spin-off series. After a disappointing run, the show has been cancelled so there won’t be a second season in 2020.
A legal and political drama, Pearson stars Gina Torres, Morgan Spector, Bethany Joy Lenz, Simon Kassianides, Eli Goree, Isabel Arraiza, and Chantel Riley, DB Woodside, and Betsy Brandt. The Suits spin-off centers on Jessica Pearson (Torres) who, after being disbarred, left New York City for the rough and tumble world of Chicago politics. Now she serves as the fixer for the Windy City’s working-class Mayor Bobby Novak (Spector), who is up for reelection. Jessica is just trying to reconcile her competitive nature and desire to win with her goal of doing the right thing.
The first season of Pearson averaged a meager 0.10 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 513,000 viewers. Of the nine recent scripted series on USA Network, Pearson ranks last in the demo and in eighth place in viewers (just above Mr. Robot, which is ending). The 10th and (now) final episode of Pearson aired on September 18th.
What do you think? Did you enjoy the Pearson TV show? Are you disappointed that there won’t be a second season of this USA Network series?
I love Pearson. It was my must watch TV show!!! Please bring it back
I loved the show for a variety of reasons – the cast, the premise and the story line. It, as well as the series, Red Line, was going to tell stories from the POV of strong POCs.
Very disappointed that Pearson has been cancelled.
I’m disappointed as well. I liked the show and thought it had potential.
Since freaking Trump came to the throne in USA land I believe everything there goes dumber and dumber, the best example are televisions and Kardashians, people there they have no sense of quality anymore. Good things dissappeared
Are you people insane. “Pearson” is one of the best shows on television. Not full of a lot of gory scenes like so many of these other shows, and the cast is beyond excellent. I used to rush home to see it. Please reconsider, this is truly a great show, great cast, great writers.
I have never seen a spin off that I enjoyed, ever. Shows work as a group, and spins offs fail when a character is made the focus in a different situation. So because of that I stopped watching spin off a long ago and even if I was a huge fan of Suits, I didn’t even bother with a single episode. Funny thing is I probably would have given it a try if it was a unique character instead of a spin off.
I really enjoyed Pearson, disappointed they won’t be bringing the show back.
I don’t feel it was marketed properly.
It had wonderful scripts with extremely talented actors. Maybe Netflix will pick it up. Better than the most of the programming available on cable and tv.
Your exactly right!!!!
Loved Pearson and Gina Torres in particular. Loved a strong, smart, vulnerable, and sexy woman who wasn’t a super hero. Should of kept it.
EXACTLY!!!!!
Didn’t like “Suits”. Watched a couple of episodes and said “Meh”. LOVED Pearson, though. Checked out the first 2 episodes on demand and got hooked. If given an second season I think it would’ve caught on.
This show was great. Showing a strong, intelligent, dominant woman in any series always seems to make men nervous, maybe feel inadequate. maybe that’s why they always seem to cancel them. I Loved her! I’m disappointed it’s been canceled. Come on the powers that be, let us have our shows.
I’m a man and I loved the show and seeing strong women in the show was reality. I love strong women. Men shouldn’t feel inadequate but some are unfortunately. I hope Pearson is picked up soon.
Pearson was an excellent show. Every cast member brought their A game. Perhaps the show can move to Netflix or another streaming platform.
I loved it. The good shows are always cancelled. I’m surprised Suits lasted so long.
Suits was a fantastic show!!
I am so surprised and disappointed. In thought the story was greatly written and keep my interest. I was looking forward to the next season. I would hate to see it end. I hope that it would be picked up elsewhere. How could you let good talent and great story lines go to waste but fill air time with trash and laugh tracks.
I enjoyed that show. Hope another network will pick it up.
Excellent, I enjoyed it. Plz reconsider
