Alcatraz: Petition, Ways to Help Save the FOX TV Show

Alcatraz petitionOn this FOX TV series, investigators try to figure out the mystery of what happened to 340 prisoners and guards from Alcatraz. The bigger mystery is “Where have the viewers gone?” Without them, Alcatraz will be cancelled.

What can you do? Remember, the ideal scenario for FOX is for many millions of people to watch the show on their television sets, while it’s being broadcast. Unfortunately, ratings are put together based on a sampling of viewers. If you’re a “Nielsen household,” your viewing is being counted. If not, it’s not.

However, if you like Alcatraz and want to see it continue, there are a few things you can do to help.

  1. If you’re a Nielsen family, watch the show whenever it’s on. If not, watch it on FOX.com or purchase episodes online so your viewing will be directly counted. Encourage others to watch the show. You might know a Nielsen family and not be aware of it.
  1. Talk about the show with others; at school, at work, online, or wherever. Creating a buzz about a show that you’re invested in gets other people interested and might help bring former viewers back.
  1. Sign the petition below and encourage others to do the same.
  1. Write to the network. Be respectful. Everyone responds better to courtesy. Tell them how much you enjoy the show, that you’ve signed the petition, and that you want to see it continue. You can e-mail or, even better, write via “snail-mail” to: Mr. Kevin Reilly, President, FOX, P.O. Box 900, Beverly Hills, CA 90213-0900, RE: Alcatraz
  1. Take note of the products that are advertised during the show. Write the advertisers and tell them that you appreciate their sponsoring the show and that you buy their products (if you do).

We, the undersigned, greatly enjoy watching Alcatraz on the FOX network. The show is intriguing and the stories and characters keep us coming back for more each week. We want to know what happened to those people and how or why they keep reappearing.

Please find a way to keep Alcatraz on the air. We are devoted viewers who will continue to watch the program, encourage others to do the same, and will support the series’ advertisers as well. Please keep it going, either on FOX or, if necessary, on another channel.

    This TV show was so smart and original. I Netflixed the series, watched all the episodes and LOVED it, just to learn that it was cancelled. Why? Maybe the time slot was bad - - not the show. Please bring it back.

    Salut, je viens de découvrir la série Alcatraz et ai dévoré les 13 épisodes d'une traite. Je trouve la série au Top, le casting de premier choix (surtout Garcia). La série n'est pas bonne enfant certes, mais pudique et sans artifice inutile...on a peut-être pas la culture nord américaine mais on sait apprécier les choses bien faites. Il est dommage de se focaliser sur une audience absente sans tenir compte de celle présente !

We all still talk about it to this day and are very disappointed that it was cancelled. Shame that true good movies never last unlike those reality and singing shows that are totally ridiculous and dumb.

    Me and my partner have been completely enthraled by the tv show Alcatraz With its intriguing plot lines, plot developments and great characters. We would love to see this series return for a second series and beyond The ending of series one left us hanging with even more questions and a hunger To keep on watching. We really want to know what happens and where the Story goes. As the inmates don't disappear untill 1963 that give us at Least two more series's to catch up with what's happening. Love the homage to the Steve McQueen film bullitt, one of my all time favorites especially re creating the car chase and the green mustang. Please don't do the television world a huge injustice by letting this series slip away there are far too many great series's being cancelled what ever the reason when other lesser shows get to live on. Please don't let Alcatraz be one of the ones which gets forgotten.

    I REALLY enjoyed this show.It was quirky, history filled,and suspenseful. I would fully prefer to have a second season with 13 more exciting episodes. BUT, if that cannot happen, can we at least get a 2 hour wrap-up summary? I mean c'mon! You left us hanging!

    Please fox bring back the show ALCATRAZ it was very interesting and was great it told a great story about its inmates and has a much better story than many of the other shows you air on television and would be cool to see the mystery unfold and show what really happened so if u could please BRING IT BACK

    I really enjoyed the show even though I was unable to watch it while it aired on Fox. It's a very suspenseful show that keeps it viewers on edge as the story draws closer and closer to the truth. Please bring it back in the near future thank you

    Please bring back Alcatraz. It was just getting started when you cancelled it. Also they need to change how the ratings are calculated given the technology today and recording and watching later! Get with the times!
