The Carrie Diaries: Cancelled, No Season Three

Carrie Diaries season twoIt’s time to say goodbye to Carrie Bradshaw again. The Carrie Diaries has been cancelled by The CW after two seasons and 26 episodes.

The Carrie Diaries follows the experiences of young Carrie Bradshaw (AnnaSophia Robb) as she grows into the New York writer we know from Sex and the City. Others in the cast include Lindsey Gort, Austin Butler, Katie Findlay, Brendan Dooling, Ellen Wong, Freema Agyeman, Stefania Owen, Matt Letscher, and Chloe Bridges.

The series debuted early last year to a 0.6 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 1.61 million viewers. The ratings went up and down over the course of the season and the show could have easily been cancelled but The CW execs decided to stick with it.

Unfortunately, the second season premiere drew just half of the viewership of the series debut some 10 months earlier. Year-to-year, Carrie Diaries dropped nearly 30% in the ratings. While expectations on Friday nights are lower, it seems viewership was just too low to justify the network ordering a third season.

The season (now series) finale aired on January 31st.

What do you think? Are you sorry to hear that The Carrie Diaries has been cancelled? Would you have renewed it for a third season?

Hey, a friend got me tag on the Carrie Dairies a couple days ago. And I finished season two a a while ago. The story behind it i s amazing because it conveys how young teen debut on their future and chasing their dreams. Many teen are governed by fear and failure, failing to realize one need to fall and tumble to get the courage to fight for their dream. I hope you guys decide on a season three. This Carrie Bradshaw is full of enthusiasm and have given up to love and stood up to her dad for what she want. I believe it is only just to learn where life takes her.

I started off watching this show when it first came out. I admit that I drifted away from watching it. But people have to understand that the demographic that this show reached out to the most are mostly teenagers. More so than that kids in High School whom have busy schedules. For example, I am now a Senior at Western Local High School. I have achieved academic and athletic accomplishments. I play three varsity sports and take college and high school classes. Not to mention the obvious teen angst that everyone goes through. I also have a serious medical condition called Chronic Migraine and even though to most this condition is shrugged off for not being as important as say cancer maybe I assure you it has dramatically affected my life. Due to this condition I have missed so much in my life. One thing being this show. While I was in the hospital being tested and while I was at home in bed feeling terrible I missed many episodes. It just recently that I have finished watching the entire show on Netflix. This show has taught me so much that I am so thankful for. It has helped me become my own person. But the story ended right when I neede it the most to continue. You see I have no idea what to do with my life after high school I don’t even know what to do for high school. I am honestly so much like Carrie it scares me. I think that many people can relate to her and her coming of age story. I myself have experienced many of the same things as Carrie. For example, college! I have no idea now just like Carrie I have spent my whole life trying to get through school and just get to college. You see I started off thinking that I had everything set and planned out already. In 7th grade I wanted to be a Veteranarian, 8th grade a Marine Biologist, 9th grade an Athletic Trainer, 10th grade a Teacher, then last year there were so many things I wanted to be that I got consumed in the possibilities. What if I don’t get into college? What if I was just lying to myself to think it was even possible? Why am I trying so hard to reach a goal that I might not accomplish? These are the questions I asked myself. Then one night when I was staying at my Aunts house I had nothing to so I decided to watch Netflix. I had no idea what to watch. So on whim I looked this show up. It honestly helped me make big decision in my life. I have now decided to go to Shawnee State Universit in the Fall of 2016. I am either taking Dental Hygiene, Occupational Therapy or English and Humanities. Just like Carrie I would love to be a writer and I love fashion. I have always exelled in English and Writing. But I have a hard time thinking of what job I can get in writing and if it’s a smart decision financial wise. I grew up not having a lot of money and I don’t want to spend my life worrying about my financial status. But you see like in the last episode of the show Carrie finally decides to stay and she decides to work for what she wants. But then it ends! This show like I said before helped me make so many important decisions in life. It inspired me to finally choose a college, to work for what I want but to also have fun doing it . But now I will never know what happens after Carrie makes her decision. I basically grew up with Carrie. When I started watching it i was a Junior and Carrie was a Junior but now She is graduated and I will be graduating. I was looking forward to seeing her life after high school in hopes it would help me outside of high school. But now I will be left with what could have been. Now I will not have advice through the show. This highly upsets me. I know this comment was probably a waste of my time. I know that probably nobody will read this. But in the hopes that somebody does read this I really desperately need this show. I miss it so much and actually need it in my life. This show has been cancelled for a while. But it can always be brought back. It never too late to do something. So if anyone reads this that can possibly get this show back on the air, please consider fighting for this show. I know I’m trying to but will you? Thank you so much for creating this page. May God bless you and have a wonderful life.
    Sincerely,
    Alley Dunn

I hope and pray that the carrie diaries resume playing for many more seasons. I fell in love with The Carrie Diaries this past week and finished season 2 today and cried because it was over.. This relates to so many young ladies or men wanting to chase after their dreams. I was watching these episodes on netflix then went to see if there would be a third season and was devastated. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE BRING THIS SHOW BACK! :)

The cw are idiots for cancelling the carrie diaries. This show is a good example to the young minds of teenagers.

Yes, I think it would of picked up and it was so great of how Carrier Bradshaw satarted and Sex in the City!

I loved it so much especially, all the 80’s era, it was great to hear and see all that was
happening at that time and I was one of the most watched person!

I grew up in the 80″s and gradudated in the 80’s and alot was going on with, changes in schools when I started the 9th grade, we were the first of that time when 9th grade was beging in High shool that year. so i was so excited to see a show of that time and also Sex in the city was my also favorite show, and how it all started with Carrie Bradshaw would like to keep continuing, it to keep following of what goes next. on season 3 , I think it would have been great to keep continuing and joing in with the start of older Carrie Bradshaw, Of what was Then & Know?
Well that is my suggestion on that.
well till later and see what happends after.
    till then Susana
