September 14, 2012 ratings: All of the five networks had original programming last night. The peacock network won in viewership while FOX took the gold in the coveted demo.
On FOX, the second night of The X Factor drew a 3.1 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 8.4 million total viewers.
The fourth season of Glee brought a 3.3 rating with 8.1 million. Compared to the season three opener, the musical comedy was down by 18% in the demographic but, on the positive side, it was Glee’s best demo rating since last February. It also built on its lead-in.
On NBC, the finale of America’s Got Talent came in second in the demo with a 2.4 rating and 10.51 million viewers. It was up by 26% in the demo when compared to last week but was down by 33% compared to last year’s finale.
The 10pm hour was then filled by a new installment of Rock Center with Brian Williams. It drew a 1.4 in the demo and 6.02 million.
On CBS, the night kicked off with reruns of The Big Bang Theory (1.9 rating with 6.83 million) and Two and a Half Men (1.5 in the demo with 5.40 million)
That was followed by a new installment of Big Brother which drew a 2.0 in the demo and 5.77 million viewers. A repeat of Person of Interest finished the night with a 1.1 in the demo and 5.48 million.
On ABC, the evening began with a new installment of Wipeout. It garnered a fourth place 1.1 in the demographic with 3.60 million viewers. It was followed by repeats of Grey’s Anatomy (0.7 demo with 2.63 million) and Scandal (0.6 demo rating with 2.45 million).
On The CW, a repeat of The Vampire Diaries (0.4 in the demo with 1.03 million) led into a new installment of The Next. The latter drew a 0.2 in the demographic with 0.71 million total viewers. That was down by 33% in the demo, week-to-week.

I am very disappointed re. cancellation of MISSING. It was a very exciting show, never a dull moment. Good acting, excellent locations, not a bad story line either. Maybe it did not get enough publicity.(Not like those reality shows). I will miss watching .
