Robert and Michelle King found success with their last CBS series, The Good Wife. Now, they’re trying something different with BrainDead. How will it perform in the ratings? Cancelled or renewed for season two? Stay tuned.
On BrainDead, Laurel Healy (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) has returned home to Washington, DC to work for her brother, Senator Luke Healy (Danny Pino) on Capitol Hill. She is caught in the midst of two huge problems: the government has stopped working due to budgetary disagreements, and mysterious bugs are eating the brains of a growing number of members of Congress and Hill staffers. The rest of the cast includes Aaron Tveit, Tony Shalhoub, Nikki M. James, Johnny Ray Gill, Charlie Semine, and Jan Maxwell.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
10/18 update: CBS has cancelled BrainDead after one season. Details here.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated charts, please try reloading the page. You can also see them here.
Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you like the BrainDead TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a second season?
Getting better each week. Definitely renew. Good writing and good acting. Should be able to equal Good Wife, maybe even better. Pretty intense.
Braindead is my family’s favorite show and I think it is by far the best summer show. I hope braindead is renewed over and over again and stays on TV for many years to come.
Aaron Tveit……Omg. keep the show….
i totally want a season 2 for this one!!!!
Love it! Hilarious, topical without being preachy, everything a good satire should be.
i love it hope it gets season 2
Absolutely boring and horrible show cancel immediately. Not even funny at all. Are the kings on drugs?
U surely are….get your head straight n watch it, u’ll find it better than the good wife
Cancel not even close to the good wife.Bring good wife back.
I thought it was absolutely awful. Please…how about a “Good Wife” spinoff.
Yes, good wife back on please!
Hilarious…and great satire on the state of affairs in this nation. Finally, a light-hearted show with hidden meanings!
People want angrier politics and storyline here slower to develop. I loved it. Eager for the wit and both sides behaving badly. Ratings affected by NBA finals, and future may be too affected by reviewers wanting West Wing again. Bad timing.
Come on people…it’s the BLOB with little legs – on steroids. I love it! Quirky, funny, icky, lots of predictable suspense and I couldn’t stop watching. I’m thinking it could be a true story, which would explain the state of affairs in Washington. It’s entertainment – keep it. Put your feet up and enjoy.
Cancel it – please. It stinks
It’s satire.
They cancelled Limitless for THIS!!? …smdh
My thoughts exactly when CBS replaced Person of Interest with Limitless! xD
Person of Interest ran its course.
After watching the first episode I think it should be cancelled before the next show.
I only caught part of it, but the premise sounds quite believable for DC politicians. Will be interesting to see where this show goes.
