Has CBS killed BrainDead? Network chief Glenn Geller recently discussed the show’s status at the TCA summer press tour.
From Robert and Michelle King, the dark comedy stars Mary Elizabeth Winstead as a young Washington DC staffer who begins noticing something wrong with the politicians on Capitol Hill—mysterious bugs are eating their brains. The cast also includes Aaron Tveit, Tony Shalhoub, Nikki M. James, Johnny Ray Gill, Charlie Semine, and Jan Maxwell.
At the TCAs, Geller said no decision has been made yet regarding BrainDead‘s future:
For all you @BrainDeadCBS fans, don't hold your breath waiting for a pickup commitment today; they've made no decision as of yet. #TCA16

So far, the show hasn’t performed as well in the ratings as many of CBS’ other series. Seven episodes into season one, BrainDead is averaging a .46 in the 18-49 demo and 3.054 million viewers.
What do you think? Are you watching BrainDead? Would you like another season?
I love the series! Don’t miss an episode.Give us a season 2.
I absolutely love the show. BRAINDEAD is entertaining, thought-provoking. Characters are outstanding. PLEASE continue the show. Similar to several other great shows, BRAINDEAD needs time to gain an audience. Perhaps showing it all again on Saturdays prior to a second season would engender a larger audience. It is a provocative and amusing creation! Brilliant!
I love the show and find it very on point. I would love a second season. I think the show needs a better time slot though…viewers would be more likely to watch if it weren’t on so Kate in a Sunday night.
Yes, lateness of the hour, running on the heels of the end of working folks’ weekend makes it extremely difficult. Most people are exhausted by 10P on Sundays.
Love it – found it on Amazon Prime
We, my granddaughter and I, LOVE THIS SHOW! It was recommended to us by friends who also love it. It is very funny but may be too subtle for some. When there is so much junk on T.V. it would be a shame to lose this comedy for thinking adults
Absolutely agree! Thinking adults will appreciate the plot’s twists and turns! I certainly trust that CBS concurs this series has a strong following and keeps it running for years to come! If not, it’s because the writers’ imagination has faltered…not for lack of interested viewers.
By far the funniest thing going on network TV. I have gotten several savvy friends hooked. If they don’t pick it up hopefully someone else does.
I am hooked on Braindead. I love everything about it. The acting is incredible. The characters are great. I’d love see a second season. I think it is slow to get followers but will gain them it should be a winter series.
I love BrainDead! It’s witty and intelligent writing with amazing actors! Please bring it back!
Love it, hilarious,current and smart.
I love the show. But the only reason I ended up watching it was by mistakes. I clicked on it while scrolling through amazon. They need to make a season 2 to but make it so more people find out about it. Great show.
Yes- I love this show!! It is clever, well acted and well written. CBS would be mistaken in cancelling it. Some of the most intelligent network TV around.
One of the best new shows on television!!! If this is cancelled, I will be extremely unhappy with CBS forcanceling yet another favorite ( Limitless) of mine. This show has so many great elements too it. I only hope that another network would pick it up if cancelled.
OH NO LIMITLESS is gone too?
This show is so entertaining and quirky, I just love the humor and the portrayed struggles in government. The recap songs played each episode are so original and fun. Bugs in the head would explain a lot of real life politics. Please don’t cancel this show!
HI (bonjour) I’m French, i watch a lot of shows (US or else), It’s been a long time I’ve seen a so fresh show, humour, cast (Mary and Tony Shaloub just greats), it’s a UFO in show’s universe. PLease Go on.
Love love love the show. Please , another season.
