Are you ready for the new Perry Mason? HBO just released a first look (see image above) of their upcoming TV show.
The limited series will be set in the 1930s and focus on Perry Mason (Matthew Rhys) as “a low-rent private investigator haunted by his wartime experience in France and suffering from a broken marriage.” The cast also includes Tatiana Maslany, John Lithgow, Lili Taylor, Nate Corddry, and Veronica Falcon.

Set in 1932 Los Angeles, the series will focus on the origin story of famed defense lawyer Perry Mason, based on characters from Erle Stanley Gardner’s novels. Living check-to-check as a low-rent private investigator, Mason is haunted by his wartime experiences in France and suffering the effects of a broken marriage. L.A. is booming while the rest of the country struggles through the Great Depression – but a kidnapping gone very wrong leads to Mason exposing a fractured city as he uncovers the truth of the crime.

Don’t mess with perfection. Don’t sully the name and work on such an iconic show and actor. Find another name for the mess you are creating and leave the name. the body of work and the memory of Perry Mason alone. If you go ahead with destroying such an iconic show you should be sued. There is only one Perry Mason and you know it.
Yes I will watch this ..saw a lot of black and white series..and all of the movies…loved them
I’ll watch because of the cast and plot description. Was never a fan of the original show however.
