In May, FOX debuted their new action-comedy, The Good Guys. The cop show stars Bradley Whitford, Colin Hanks, Diana-Maria Riva, and Jenny Wade.
The network had so much faith in the show that they ordered seven additional episodes before the series even premiered and also gave it a slot on the fall schedule. Unfortunately, the TV show hasn’t caught on and looks to have a real uphill battle if The Good Guys is going to survive long enough to be renewed for season two.
FOX recently decided to pull the show from the summer schedule a little early but is still slated to air on Friday nights this fall.
As a result of the show’s rating challenges, The Good Guys is undergoing some adjustments. According to Deadline, FOX wants to focus on attracting more young female viewers.
To do that, there will be more emphasis placed on the romantic relationships and a young female CSI specialist could become a regular character. In addition, Julius (RonReaco Lee), the bumbling criminal, will appear in more episodes.
There are 11 original episodes left and they’ll start airing on Friday, September 24th.
What do you think? Will The Good Guys last long enough to see a second season or is it headed for cancellation?

I don’t know how you can compare the Good Guys to the canceling of Three Rivers. The Tood Guys is on Fox and Three Rivers was on CBS
By the way, The Good Guys Rocks!
Guys, there is funny and then there is stupid funny! Dan Stark is stoopid funny!! My favorite Danism “Lets go bust some ponks”.Also, if you close your eyes when the kid (Hanks) is screaming, tell me he doesn’t sound exactly like his dad!
Funniest show? When Dan has the flu!
My husband and I both LOVE the show The Good Guys on Fox.
I was disappointed to read that it had been jerked. I think the powers that be are JERKS!!! PLEASE GIVE IT A CHANCE.
I love this show. I love the characters, they are funny and subtle. It reminds me of the show Reno 911. I hope it lasts. They have this female viewer.
Love this show. It is funny. Give the show a chance, and it will catch on.
At The End Of the Day, This Show Will Be For Guys, and would nevar attract a young, female audience no matter how hard they try.
I am a girl and this show is a riot! It makes me laugh out loud. We need more of this. I really hope this show stays on.
This is a great show. The comedy, the action, the growing friendship between the officers are all a treat to watch. Why does a show have to attract more female viewers? It’s a guys’ show. No one wanted to change Sex and City to attract more male viewers, and rightly so.
This show is hilarious. I’m glad to see Colin Hanks on TV again. It’s interesting how the episodes start in the middle and then we see how Jack and Dan got into their current predicament. The scenes are not always sequential later in each episode either. They go along and often skip back to something that happened hours or days earlier.
I eagerly await new episodes and hope it gets a second season.
Are you kidding me? This show is great, and it will be a crime if it doesn’t get renewed. Ans yes, JT, it does remind me of Sledge Hammer, which is a VERY GOOD THING!
I have to agree with Dave, I love this show. The episodes have gotten better and the 70’s references are great. The Dan character is so outrageous, I keep waiting for him to get pepper sprayed…LOL!
I have no faith this show will turn it around. Though I’m a fan of Hanks, I was never impressed with the promos and the concept reminded me of ABC’s Sledgehammer. Yes I’m old lol
I love this show!! I laugh my butt off every episode I catch. Don’t have a clue what Lee is talking about though, this is not a reality show!! Love the 70’s nostalgia. Don’t know if it will survive or not, but I sure hope it does. To bad they moved it to Fridays though. Friday nights is where they usually send a series to die.
this show does not warrant watching
This is the dumbest show on TV, yet you cancelled Three Rivers!! Someone is not doing his homework!! These reality shows need to GO!!! Lets try something new
Reality show? I’ve only seen Good Guys once, but it never struck me as a reality show.
