Sadly, the Visitors aren’t among us any longer. After two short seasons, ABC has cancelled their V TV series.
A reimagining of the original V, this series tells the tale of what happens when an advanced alien race arrives of Earth professing their desire to help mankind. Fortunately, not everyone trusts them. The second season features the talents of Charles Mesure, Elizabeth Mitchell as Erica Evans, Joel Gretsch, Laura Vandervoort, Logan Huffman, Morena Baccarin, Morris Chestnut, and Scott Wolf.
For season one, V ended up averaging a 2.25 rating in the coveted 18-49 demographic and 5.7 million average viewers. It was “on the bubble” but ended up being renewed for a 13 episode second season. The network was hoping that the show would catch on and the ratings would improve.

ABC later reduced the episode order to just 10 installments and debuted them mid-season. Unfortunately, ABC’s gamble didn’t pay off. Season two of V ended up averaging only a 1.9 in the demo and 5.49 million viewers.
Though the network and producers maintained that the show was still in contention for next season, it was clear that there would only be a third season of V if ABC was willing to gamble once again. In the end, they weren’t.
ABC confirmed today that V has been cancelled after two seasons and 22 episodes. The series finale aired on March 15th and, unfortunately, there were lots of unresolved cliffhangers. Hopefully the producers will someday share what they had in mind for season three.
What do you think? Are you sad that V won’t be returning next season? Why do you think the series didn’t catch on?

Please bring back season 3 of V I watched the original back the 80’s and enjoyed it, there are lots of changes from that first one, but this was great please bring this show back.
I really enjoyed this show ,it was awesome of course , I did not even know it existed , however I just finished binge watching 2 seasons and I really enjoyed it , was sad that there was no season three , what a loss for watchers, I know its been many years later ,but you should really consider bringing it back , this would be a great time for it ….viewers would love it especially now that so many are into tv shows ….!!
They continue with a disappointing show The Conners, but shelf a series like V? SiFi Network should take and run with season 3.
It was too close to hone nowadays as far as social commentary . Somebody said oh Hell no keep them asleep..
I just finished watching both seasons on Amazon prime. It was a great show before and still today. I was disappointed that the show was cancelled. V absolutely held my attention then and still to this day. Loved the suspense. Compared to other shows that continue to run today it’s hard to believe it didn’t get better ratings. Long live the 5th column.
I just binged watch the series, and I mad they just scratched the show just like that wow way to go!!! I could have been studying my math instead oh well at least Stargate Atlans ended nicely.
Way to go ABC, bring on more of your mind drivel! No wonder you don’t have the following, you kill off every show that is intelligent and thought provoking and you go back to the BS every prime time channel is showing. Keep it up with the cop shows and the medical dramas, you wouldn’t want to show your diversity. Thanks for nothing! How ironic, my code is FUyx6.
I firmly believe this great series was a little too complicated for the average attention-span-of-a-gnat viewer to follow. In order to get hooked you had to remain engaged with all the characters and stay on the ride with regard to the endgame “why and how” intentions of the V.
Too much for the always distracted Texters of Generation Duh. They are of the Utopian, drone mindset that would likely follow Queen Anna to the grave without question.
Thanks a lot, Duh!
would love to have a third season you can make it the final season just so we can all get satisfactory closure – thanks
At least make a 3rd Season and make that the final season and give it a satisfactory ending. Don’t leave us hanging.
That’s why I hate those tv channels, always canceling the best series and treating us the fans as sh*t
So typical…If there isn’t any violent sex scenes or language so vulgar it makes your head spin, the show gets canceled. You know ABC, there are still people in this world who love PG-PG13 shows because the storyline is great for God’s sake.
.I agree.
I Agree as well
I loved this series, don’t know why the ratings weren’t up…
Soooo sad it ended with so many cliff hangers.
I agree I took 2 days off work just to watch both series they can’t just leave it like that
**** abc & all the other networks that think nothing of canceling shows leaving fans with a cliffhanger and no end.this is why I stream everything so I don’t get involved in story’s that never have a finally.abc
I always loved this show in the 80’s and 2000’s. I wish theyd at least finish what they started. It was an amazing show!!!
I enjoyed both seasons 1 and 2. I saw season 1 on ABC, but never heard about season 2 return. I think it wasn’t advertised enough that’s why it didn’t find it’s audience. Looks like a cult following. Bring it back and finish the story.
I agree. This was an excellent series and I enjoyed it thoroughly. Great actors and I enjoyed every episode. I enjoyed this series more than The Falling Skies and other series. Maybe bring to the movie theaters, so more viewers can talk about the series. I believe word of mouth would bring more viewers. Maybe bring some actors from super natural.
