What’s This TV Show About?
Airing on the NBC television network, The Voice singing competition typically airs twice a week — on Monday and Tuesday nights. Longtime coaches Adam Levine and Blake Shelton return in season 11, joined by new coaches Miley Cyrus and Alicia Keys. Team advisors include Bette Midler (Team Blake), Sammy Hagar (Team Adam), Charlie Puth (Team Alicia), and Joan Jett (Team Miley). Carson Daly is the host.
Season 11 Ratings (Finals)
On Mondays, season 11 averaged a 2.53 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 10.75 million viewers. Compared to the Fall 2015 edition’s Monday numbers, that was down by 19% in the demo and 11% in viewers. On Tuesdays, season 11 averaged a 2.41 in the demo with 10.74 million. That was down by 11% and 4% respectively.
The Voice remains the peacock network’s most popular TV series but the numbers keep falling each season. Regardless, it remains one of NBC’s most important series as it helps them launch new drama series (with mixed results). It’s no surprise that it’s been renewed but clearly, this series won’t go on forever. FOX’s American Idol was once an unstoppable ratings juggernaut but it fizzled out and was cancelled after 15 seasons. Can The Voice outlast it? We shall see.
