What’s This TV Show About?
Airing on the TNT cable channel, Animal Kingdom stars Ellen Barkin, Scott Speedman, Shawn Hatosy, Ben Robson, Jake Weary, Finn Cole, and Molly Gordon. In season two, the recurring cast includes Alex Meraz, Jennifer Landon, and Tembi Locke. A television adaption of the 2010 Australian feature film, the story centers on Joshua “J” Cody (Cole). After his mom dies from a heroin overdose, J moves in with his estranged grandmother — Janine “Smurf” Cody (Barkin) — and her unruly clan of criminals. The second season opens with the Codys up to no good. When their heist fails to proceed as planned, it shakes up the family dynamics. As a threat from Smurf’s past emerges, they must decide whether to break away, or rally to her side.
Season Two Ratings
The second season of Animal Kingdom averaged a 0.38 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 1.17 million viewers. Compared to season one, that’s down by 12% and down by 8%, respectively. Learn how Animal Kingdom stacks up against other TNT TV shows.
Telly’s Take
The second season debut was down slightly in comparison to its series premiere and the ratings have dipped. However, most TV shows are way down when it comes to live ratings. For this reason, I suspect that TNT will renew Animal Kingdom for a third season. Things can change though and I’ll keep a hungry eye on the ratings and update this page as needed. Please please show season 3 ASAP I love this show and have just watched the end of season 2 . Now I can’t sleep because the show has left me up in the air ! What’s going to happen? It’s like reading a book only to have the last chapters torn out ! Not fair ! I need to see the end .
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS SHOW !!!! I fallow it religiously and think you have done a great job with the characters and who plays them. You have kept a very “edge of your seat” storyline that’s very believiable. PLEASE KEEP IT GOING AS LONG AS POSSIBLE… IF need be and you need ideas for more episodes ,,, contact the viewers. Have them send ideas that you really consider. This makes the people feel more “involved” if you will. Anyway, I love your show and will be a “DIE HARD” Fan till the absolute end guys!!!!!

I love Animal Kingdom on TNT, my husband and I are addicted! Please keep renewing each season. We are already plotting what the story line for season 3 will be. Could someone please let me know when season 3 starts? I’ve searched the Web and allstars I can find is that season 3 will air in 2018….really why so far out? TNT tv producers have other show starting in the fall line up, I wish Animal Kingdom was one of them!!!!!
DON’T CANCEL ANIMAL KINGDOM !!!!! THERE ISN’T ANOTHER SHOW LIKE IT AT ALL , I HAVE NEVER MISSED AN EPISODE AND ALL OF MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS WATCH IT FAITHFULLY, WISH IT WAS ON LONGER AND THAT THEY SHOULD DO 2 SEASONS A YEAR INSTEAD OF 1 AND THAT MIGHT KEEP THE VIEWERS AND GET MORE VIEWERS AND SO WE DONT HAVE TO WAIT SO LONG FOR IT TO COME BACK ON, LIKE WHEN THEY SHOWED THE FIRST SEASON,WE HAD TO WAIT UNTILL MAY 2017 THAT’S TOO LONG BUT THE TRUE KINGDOM FANS WILL KEEP COMING BACK!!!!!
I LOVE animal kingdom this has been the best show Iv seen since vikings finished I hope this goes on for more than season 3 !!!! Pope is the best and the soundtrack is amazing as well… I will spread the word
