CBS Wins Sunday in Viewers and Key Demographics
CBS placed first in viewers for the 15th time in 17 weeks led by the largest audience ever for NCIS and the largest audience for NCIS: LOS ANGELES since its premiere, in a week that included rebroadcasts on two of the Network’s strongest nights (Monday and Thursday), according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for the week ending Jan. 16, week 17 of the 2010-2011 television season.
In its eighth season, NCIS attracted a record audience of nearly 22 million and its highest adult 18-49 rating since October 2009, while NCIS: LOS ANGELES delivered over 18 million viewers, its largest audience since its premiere on Sept. 22, 2009.
On Sunday, a night that included the “Golden Globe Awards,” UNDERCOVER BOSS posted a season-high 13.8 million viewers as CBS (with a late-running AFC Divisional Playoff game) placed first for the night in viewers and key demographics.
For the week in viewers: CBS (11.90m), FOX (10.32m), ABC (7.29m) and NBC (6.36m). Season-to-date, CBS (11.76m) is first ahead of ABC (8.63m), NBC (8.08m) and FOX (7.72m).
For the week in key demographics, CBS was second in adults 25-54 (3.8/10) and adults 18-49 (2.9/08). Season-to-date, CBS is first in both adults 25-54 (3.9/10) and adults 18-49 (3.0/08).
For the week in households: CBS (7.2/12), FOX (5.9/09), ABC (4.5/07) and NBC (3.9/06). Season-to-date, CBS (7.2/12) is ahead of ABC (5.4/09), NBC (4.9/08) and FOX (4.5/07).
CBS’s Weekly Highlights:
— On Tuesday, CBS was first in households (10.5/17), viewers (17.45m), adults 25-54 (4.8/12) and adults 18-49 (3.5/09). CBS posted its best Tuesday delivery in households since March 9, 2010, its best in viewers since Feb. 9, 2010, and its best in both adults 25-54 and adults 18-49 since Oct. 19, 2010.
– NCIS was first in households (12.9/20), viewers (21.93m), adults 25-54 (6.1/15) and adults 18-49 (4.5/12). NCIS beat NBC, ABC, FOX and CW combined in viewers (21.93m vs. 19.48m, +13%). NCIS posted its largest-ever viewers delivery, posted its best adults 25-54 rating since Jan. 5, 2010, and its best adults 18-49 rating since Oct. 20, 2009.
– NCIS: LOS ANGELES was first in households (10.7/16), viewers (18.13m), adults 25-54 (5.1/12) and adults 18-49 (3.7/09). NCIS: LOS ANGELES posted its best viewer delivery since Sept. 22, 2009, and its best ratings in both adults 25-54 and adults 18-49 since Oct. 19, 2010.
– THE GOOD WIFE was first in households (7.8/13), viewers (12.29m), adults 25-54 (3.3/08) and adults 18-49 (2.3/06). THE GOOD WIFE beat the competition combined in viewers by +16% (vs. 10.64m for both NBC and ABC). THE GOOD WIFE posted its best delivery in viewers since Nov. 9, 2010, and its best delivery in adults 18-49 since Oct. 26, 2010.
— On Sunday, CBS was first in households (12.8/20), viewers (22.20m), adults 25-54 (8.0/18) and adults 18-49 (6.5/17). The AFC Divisional Playoff (New York Jets at New England Patriots) posted a 27.6/44 with 50.55m viewers, 20.0/47 in adults 25-54 and 17.4/46 in adults 18-49 from 7:00 PM-7:48 PM. The 7:48 PM-8:00 PM Post Game Show delivered a 17.5/28 with 31.24m viewers, 12.4/29 in adults 25-54 and 10.5/28 in adults 18-49.
– 60 MINUTES was first in households (10.6/16) and viewers (17.40m); it was second in adults 25-54 (5.4/12) and adults 18-49 (4.1/10). 60 MINUTES posted its best delivery in households, viewers and adults 18-49 since Dec. 19, 2010, and its best adults 25-54 since Dec. 14, 2008.
– UNDERCOVER BOSS was second in households (8.3/12), viewers (13.79m), adults 25-54 (4.7/10) and adults 18-49 (3.4/08). UNDERCOVER BOSS posted its best performances in both households and viewers since April 11, 2010 (season 1 finale), its best adults 25-54 rating since Oct. 3, 2010 and its best delivery in adults 18-49 since Nov. 21, 2010.
