It looks like the fight to save the Dallas TV show is over — at least for now. After TNT cancelled the revival series after three seasons, fans rallied to save Dallas and studio Warner Horizon worked to find a new home. The latter’s efforts have come up empty.
Executive producer Cynthia Cidre and director Michael Robin released a joint statement to DallasDecoder to share the bad news:
Hi Friends,
Well, we have come to the end. After a 6-week attempt to try and land our beloved “Dallas” at another network, we have to inform you that we have not succeeded. Warner Horizon has attempted, in a Herculean way, to try and find us a new home, but at the end of the day it did not work out.
We so appreciate the outpouring of support by all of you, and the #SaveDallas campaign was a truly remarkable undertaking. We cannot fully express how much we loved making this show for you and with you. We had 3 wonderful years together, and we had the times of our lives bringing this iconic show back to television. Thank you for your support; thank you for your loyalty to our wonderful characters; and thank you for watching our show.
We wish you all our very best, and thank you again for loving “Dallas.”
With great admiration and appreciation,
Cynthia Cidre and Michael Robin
The new Dallas ran for three seasons on TNT and ended with several cliffhangers. Hopefully, Cidre and Robin will share what they had in mind for season four at some point.
What do you think? Are you sorry that Dallas won’t be returning for a fourth season? Would you like to see the Ewings come back some day?
Hated to hear this show was cancelled! I looked forward each week to watch Dallas! Need to bring back!!!
I love Dallas and was looking forward to watching it. I will miss it I looked forward to watching it.
Anyone believes DALLAS is not a good show needs to see a special and practice doctor to see what up with their brains. Thanks for your attention from me JR.
I am very shocked and very that the show is not coming back but I strongly believe some networks will truly be interested in DALLAS as much as the fans and I myself are because the show is real as other shows aren’t so real but fake. I don’t truly like fake shows because it’s uninterested. I do strongly advise Warner Bros and many think and try again they’ll be surprised what DALLAS’s fans and including myself as the number one fan to bring back the show. Never say never I say because I am JR as well in my… Read more »
loved the show……so disappointed…
Fans across the world are still fighting. Read this article: http://highlighthollywood.com/2015/06/savedallas-fans-continue-to-lobby-networks-on-social-media-disney-now-targeted-highlight-hollywood-news/
Wasn’t aware of this movement. So glad to hear that maybe there is still hope for bringing the show somewhere hope it pans out. I miss the show so much. One of the best shows ever
Please bring Dallas back because it appeals to so many people that used to watch the original series !!! It’s an icon TV Show that needs to be reserected and gear it toward the younger generation to make it work.
Please don’t bring it back. It’s bad like the rest of all the soap shows. Money, greed, murder, lust, sex, adultry, evil plots, scams. Same old boring stories.
I hope you will be able to bring back Dallas. We are sad not to see it renewed. I cannot believe that with so much garbage being put on TV a station wouldn’t be willing to put a GOOD show back on. I hope someone on the networks see a true jewel of a show (DALLAS).
I think it should be brought back
I’m another who saw every episode of both incarnations of Dallas, and loved every one of them. Every time I see viewer comments regarding cancelled shows, numerous people are livid that there is no respect shown to loyal viewers, in the form of a final show for wrapping up the series by tying up loose ends. I would love to see the day when ALL of the networks would make a pact to never again leave their audiences hanging after cancelling shows, especially those that have been around for several seasons and were much beloved by their viewers. Shows that… Read more »
“Even to network executives” LOL Because clearly network executives are the thickest, most oblivious brain-dead puds on the face of the planet!
I will never again watch a TNT or TBS dramatic show. They should never end a drama show that has cliff hangers without a final episode to clear it up. No one that works at TNT or TBS cares for those that watch their network. When they do this kind of thing they are saying: sucker we had you watch for three years, but we don’t give a hamster’s hinnie about you. So I don’t care about TNT/TBS. They could have easily made a movie to show at the end of summer and tied up loose ends. They chose to… Read more »
