It looks like the fight to save the Dallas TV show is over — at least for now. After TNT cancelled the revival series after three seasons, fans rallied to save Dallas and studio Warner Horizon worked to find a new home. The latter’s efforts have come up empty.
Executive producer Cynthia Cidre and director Michael Robin released a joint statement to DallasDecoder to share the bad news:
Hi Friends,
Well, we have come to the end. After a 6-week attempt to try and land our beloved “Dallas” at another network, we have to inform you that we have not succeeded. Warner Horizon has attempted, in a Herculean way, to try and find us a new home, but at the end of the day it did not work out.
We so appreciate the outpouring of support by all of you, and the #SaveDallas campaign was a truly remarkable undertaking. We cannot fully express how much we loved making this show for you and with you. We had 3 wonderful years together, and we had the times of our lives bringing this iconic show back to television. Thank you for your support; thank you for your loyalty to our wonderful characters; and thank you for watching our show.
We wish you all our very best, and thank you again for loving “Dallas.”
With great admiration and appreciation,
Cynthia Cidre and Michael Robin
The new Dallas ran for three seasons on TNT and ended with several cliffhangers. Hopefully, Cidre and Robin will share what they had in mind for season four at some point.
What do you think? Are you sorry that Dallas won’t be returning for a fourth season? Would you like to see the Ewings come back some day?
I will truley miss Dallas it has been my all time favorite show. The cast of the first Dallas
I agree I don’t think the advertising for show was too good. There were a lot of people that did not know it was on. I wish there was a way we could get it back. Anyone have any ideas that might work…Miss watching it so much.
Stunned. The sequel series was absolutely amazing. The transition between the original to the sequal make sense to me, and it was a blast. The whole cast could flat out act. They made reality TV shows look scripted, because the acting in Dallas had so much passion.
Thank you for this too brief set of perfection.
Gary Stephens
so sad…I looked forward to this show, after year end of football.
I want Dallas back miss this show people probably didn’t watch because it was not advertised well.
I want Dallas back miss this show
I did see A Country Wedding. I really enjoyed it. Everyone who loves Dallas would like it. I miss Dallas so much. I hope it gets a place somewhere so we can see it back.
I have watched the show Dallas since the beginning & am greatly disappointed in TNT for not renewing another season!!! This was a fabulous show & is more worthy than some reality show that will probably take it’s place!!!
Hi. Have any of you Dallas fans seen the TV movie “A Country Wedding?” Jessy Metcalf stars in it. He’s great in it!! It’s a great movie!! I’ve seen it twice. Watch it if you haven’t seen it!! Keep up the fight to bring back “Dallas!!!!” Thanks!!!!
I saw it It was great loved seeing him in it. Miss Dallas so much.
I’ve followed and watched Dallas since the vey beginning and I’m so distraught that it’s been canceled! It just isn’t fair to the thousands of viewers who were waiting to see what happened but perhaps the last man to leave a comment is right on the nose, the networks really don’t care about its viewers, & money is all they recognize! If I had the $, I’d make sure somehow Dallas had at least a fourth season to resolve things!
I cannot believe that Dallas is cancelled. I have following this show since the original series. Please bring it back. We love you
This is totally unbelievable! I did not realize it was cancelled. This was an iconic series and I am really bummed it is not coming back. I hope they keep trying to find it a home.
I didn’t know it was cancelled either! It was so good. This is a big disappointment. I’ve been looking for it all summer!
I keep watching the last three seasons over and over again on Netflix I would really like to have them come back I would love to have season 1 to 14 I don’t have the money for it I’m on a fixed income and this is my enjoyment I really miss Dallas
I agree. i was very pleased when Dallas returned to television. The writing and acting were both as excellent as always. It should not have been cancelled.
I have watched Dallas when Jock was alive. He would have been proud of his off spring. This show should not be cancelled, it should go on. But once again, no one in TV land has a clue as to what is good and bad for good viewing. I loved the new program and once again the networks don’t have people in place that understand anything about what they are doing. Sale the show to Netflix. Sales would go through the roof.
I agree, TV network do not care about viewers, its all business. TNT did not know how to handle Dallas right to begin with.
