What’s This TV Show About?
Streaming on the Netflix subscription service, the Daybreak TV show stars Colin Ford, Alyvia Alyn Lind, Sophie Simnett, Austin Crute, Gregory Kasyan, Krysta Rodriguez, Cody Kearsley, Jeanté Godlock, and Matthew Broderick. Based on the graphic novel by Brian Ralph, the series follows Josh Wheeler (Ford), a 17-year-old high school outcast who’s searching for his missing girlfriend, Sam (Simnett), in a post-apocalyptic Glendale, California. He’s joined by a ragtag group of misfits that includes a pyromaniac 12-year-old Angelica (Lind) and Josh’s former high school bully, Wesley (Crute). The group tries to stay alive amongst the horde of gangs of evil jocks and cheerleaders turned Amazon warriors, zombie-like creatures called Ghoulies, and everything else this brave new world throws at them.
Telly’s Take
Unless they decide to publicize viewership, it is difficult to predict whether Netflix will cancel or renew Daybreak for season two. Since Netflix isn’t ad-supported, it can take a chance on series it believes in and stories that need telling, but sooner or later it comes down to production costs, versus viewership numbers. Generally speaking, Netflix TV shows which are going to be renewed are usually picked up within a month or so of the series or season premiere. For now, I’ll keep my ears open and an eye out for news, and will update this page with breaking developments. Subscribe for free alerts on Daybreak cancellation or renewal news.

Daybreak was a great show, if they would have just advertised it more it would have done way better. i skipped it thinking it was cheesy and stupid, and then i found out it was like a cross between lord of the flies and zombieland but 1000x funnier. i am really disappointed in netflix right now.
The haters need to stop it. There are dozens of horrible shows and titles on Netflix and you think Daybreak is bad? You have no idea what you are talking about.

I think that this series should continue..I have been thoroughly enjoying it’s tongue in cheek apocalypse story line and hope there is another season..who makes these decisions anyway ?..probably the same person who cancelled firefly!!!
Daybreak is one of the most greatest shows I’ve seen and it pisses me off when Netflix’s leaves a show on a cliff hanger! I want to see what’ll happen next but can’t because there canceling it, I wish Netflix could start a show and actually finish it.

Good riddance. This show tried so hard to be something it was not; well-written. Josh is a two-dimensional male written to be so dim-witted and “not woke” that I am surprised every other character is not constantly reminding him how to breathe. The 7 year old or whatever she is becomes annoying 2 minutes after her intro which I suppose is her 19th profanity (cuz funny). The samurai kid’s “twist” was predictable and tired. I had never heard of the Daybreak show on Netflix. I don’t recall seeing them promote the show, at all. Either way, once I started watching it, I could tell it was something different, unique. I love this show! If watcher comments are noted by Netflix, count me as a vote for more seasons of Daybreak! While I’m waiting, I’ll read the graphic novels: I’ll bet they’ll be awesome, too.
