Despite declining ratings, Tyler Perry’s The Haves and the Have Nots TV show has remained OWN’s highest-rated scripted series. So, it’s no surprise that the show hasn’t been cancelled. In January of last year, OWN ordered an additional 44 episodes which we’ve confirmed will make up season five. Will that be the end? Will The Haves and Have Nots be cancelled or renewed for a sixth season? Stay tuned. *Status update below.
A primetime soap opera crime thriller, The Haves and the Have Nots stars Tika Sumpter, Crystal Fox, Renee Lawless, Tyler Lepley, Aaron, Peter Parros, Angela Robinson, Gavin Houston, John Schneider, Brett Davis, Presilah Nunez, and Nick Sagar. The OWN drama centers on the complicated dynamic between the rich and powerful Cryer family of Savannah, Georgia and their hired help who work in their opulent mansion. Season five kicks off with everyone dealing with the fallout of scandal, including some life or death consequences.

For comparisons: The fourth season of The Haves and the Have Nots on OWN averaged a 0.66 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 2.523 million viewers.
Cable ratings are typically released within a day or so of the show’s airing, except for in the case of weekends and holidays. They are sometimes harder to come by so there may be occasional delays or gaps.

*1/8/19 update: Our contact at OWN tells us that there are 11 episodes remaining in season five (bringing the total to 44 episodes) and that season six will air later in 2019.
Everybody I lnow watches the Haves smd the Have Nots. Nobody I lnow has been polled.
I agree with everyone who says HAHN should be cancelled. It is beginning to be horrible. Each episode I tune into just gets worse than the last. Nothing makes since. It’s like the story line is just made up out of their heads as they go along. Nothing is resolved. We like suspense but geesh! And Candace’s pimp/bulling/ ganster/ “business woman” persona is a joke since War kept her in check so long before he died. Tyler Perry just throw the whole show away. And If Loving you is Wrong right behind it.
Please end this show. The dialogue is terrible, as well as the story line.
I agree Tyler is all over the place nothing gets finished who killed Jim’s daughter? And Veronica she commit all these crimes and nothing is mention about them David’s car blew up his girlfriend dies nothing becomes of it boring Mr Perry use your writing skills be more creative
Cancel. We get entertainment, what we don’t get is this advancement of stereotypes – especially in our current political climate. The show helps to reinforce the already negative perceptions toward already challenged demographics (black women especially) in our American society. The makers of the show don’t have to deal with the fallout from the perceptions generated and reinforced by the show, while the rest of us non-billionaires do. The insult to injury is that these perceptions were created, written, developed, and produced by one of our own. Thanks.
I think it should be cancelled. It appears to go no where with a contentious dragging story
line. Enough is enough of the same old people getting away with wrong doing. End it now.
The show needs to be cancelled because what I saw on June 5th 2018 was sickening. I quickly turned own and deleted the rest of the series. This show is too much and has gone too far. I will not watch any more of his shows if this is his thought process.

Well Amy I know you said don’t response but I agree with you. It is ridiculously stupid. This show makes no sense at all. It is a waste of space on my DVR. Yes it has gone too far.
I think “The Haves and the Have nots” should be canceled. The storyline is just being dragged out over too many seasons. I think the storyline is good, but the dialogue and acting is terrible.
Please do not cancel. I’ve been tuned in since the very beginning. What can we do to help?
The haves and the Have Nots is the most ridiculous show I’ve ever seen. The storyline is stupid and ALL the male characters are Punks and *******. Veronica would have been dead. Candice only appears to be tough because her prey are all idiots. Oh yeah did I mention the acting and dialogue is horrible. the woman Jeffrey supposedly got pregnant has been so for let’s see, 3 seasons and still not showing. What’s up with that? The Haves and the Have Nots show is the only reason I purchased cable in my house. Not a big fan of Commerical Cable Television. So if the Haves and Have Nots is cancelled, I will remove cable out of my home. My dollars will stop there and so will all of my friends around the country who watches with me.
Our job has us traveling across the country and most hotels do not carry OWN.
I have watched this show without fail all Seasons. It is a captivating show with great talent. I look forward and can’t wait for it to come on each week. It gets more and more exciting each time. A friend of mine also watches it and we call each other during commercials on pins & needels discussing what’s happening. The actors are wonderful and keep you interested. I love the haves and the have nots it shouldn’t be cancelled
This is his better series. The one that should be cancelled is If Loving You Is Wrong. I gave up on that one 2 seasons ago. Last night I thought I would give it another chance and was very very disappointed. Keep The Have and the Have Nots.
Love this show very interesting somethings that happen in real life and I love all Tyler Perry shows not one I don’t love keep bringing more of The have and have nots and your movies I also love your plays.
Each season has gotten worse. There is absolutely no one to root for, nobody ever learns from their mistakes, and most of the storylines make absolutely no sense. Really, a 100 lb ultra-thin Candace can beat up on muscle-bound males? She can easily transfer over 8 Million dollars on line? (rolling eyes). Yeah right! I totally agree with you!! I can’t believe how well the show started….but the last two seasons are ultimately stupid..it’s just too much going on & it’s getting worse by the week. So sad because Tyler is so talented. But this show needs to be cancelled with the quickness unless Tyler and crew can do a serious comeback. Oh well
