While fans of Magic City are understandably upset by the show’s cancellation, Starz CEO Chris Albrecht recently explained that the decision wasn’t a difficult one when it came to finances.
At the TCA press tour, he said, “It was a fine show but it was extremely expensive. It had decent audience but distributors weren’t interested in co-marketing it with us, and we felt season two had a pretty reasonable and satisfying landing spot.”
Magic City revolves around the world of Miami’s Miramar Playa Hotel in 1959. The TV series stars Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Olga Kurylenko, and Danny Huston, with Steven Strait, Christian Cooke, Jessica Marais, Yul Vazquez, Dominik Garcia-Lorido, Kelly Lynch, and Elena Satine.

I agree with you all. IT was a great show, great actors, and the story lines were just starting to heat up.
Even shows on regular tv are being cancelled – Revolution for one…which like Magic City is not a reality show – I don’t understand why they are getting axed. But shows like the Kardashians is still here to stay.
Only the good shows are cancelled & the crap is kept on I am just giving up on this channel all together

Well let’s face it this show couldn’t last. It isn’t a cookie cutter reality show so it has to go. It will be put in the TV cemetery along with greats like Deadwood and the Black Donnellys. Sorry to see another great show get flushed.
I am very disappointed that Magic City is canceled!! It was one of my favorite shows!! The time frame was very interesting and so were the actors. Please bring it back!!!
Magic City was my favorite shows for the past two years. Was really looking forward to this season until I found out some bonehead cancelled the series. Well thanks a lot!
