The NCIS: Sydney series was ordered for Paramount+ and Network 10 in Australia and aired on CBS because of the actor and writer strikes of 2023. The show performed well enough in the ratings that it’s been brought back on the network. How will NCIS: Sydney perform this time around, competing with a full schedule of network TV programming? Will the series be cancelled or renewed for season three? Stay tuned.
An Australian procedural action drama series, the NCIS: Sydney TV show stars Olivia Swann, Todd Lasance, Sean Sagar, Tuuli Narkle, Mavournee Hazel, and William McInnes. With rising international tensions in the Indo-Pacific, a team of U.S. NCIS agents and the Australian Federal Police (AFP) are blended into a multinational task force to keep naval crimes in check in the most contested patch of ocean on the planet. Led by NCIS Special Agent Michelle Mackey (Swann) and her 2IC AFP counterpart, Sergeant Jim “JD” Dempsey (Lasance), the team of Americans and Aussies learn to trust each other, overcoming and harnessing their differences to solve each case. Sassy AFP Constable Evie Cooper (Narkle) and endlessly curious Special Agent DeShawn Jackson (Sagar) form a fast friendship, while curmudgeonly forensic pathologist Doctor Roy Penrose (McInnes) meets his match in the brilliant young forensic scientist Bluebird “Blue” Gleeson (Hazel).
Nielsen Ratings
The Nielsen ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s chances of staying on the air. The higher the ratings, the better the chances of survival. This chart is updated as new ratings data becomes available.
3/17 update: You can see the latest night’s ratings in context.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
For comparisons: Season one of NCIS: Sydney on CBS averaged a 0.34 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 5.02 million viewers.
Note: These are the final national ratings, including all live+same day viewing and DVR playback (through 3:00 AM). While these numbers don’t include further delayed or streaming viewing, they are a very good indicator of how a show is performing, especially when compared to others on the same channel. There can be other economic factors involved in a show’s fate, but typically the higher-rated series are renewed and the lower-rated ones are cancelled.

What do you think? Do you like the NCIS: Sydney TV series on CBS? Are you glad it has been renewed for a third season?
NCIS: Sydney
Great Show. Great Cast. Great Storyline. Please keep this show going.
NCIS Sydney is not as good as NCIS Hawaii. Please bring back NCIS Hawaii. There is more chemistry on the Sydney show.
Bring back NCIS HAWAII. Sydney and origins stink.
The proof is right here. After 3 days you have only 5 comments and most not in favor of the Sydney show. This is the show that CBS should’ve axed. People don’t care about this show the way they did NCIS Hawaii. Last year after the announcement of CBS pulling the plug on NCIS Hawaii your comments here for the same time frame here was 3 to 4 pages of feedback. Not just 5! Now even after a year viewers are still upset over the loss of NCIS Hawaii and want it back. Do CBS executives even read these?
Don’t like it at all bad acting like NCIS Hawaii it was a lot better I thought it cost to much to produce they said but u do the Sydney one
I agree bring back NCIS HAWAII. it is a much better show and has better characters. I don’t watch NCIS Sydney after the unfair cancelation of NCIS HAWAII. I have NEVER seen NCIS Origins and will not because of how badly CBS treated the cast and crew of NCIS Hawaii. Even seeing the commercials of NCIS Sydney literally make me sick to my stomach because they are still on the air and Hawaii is not!
I really like NCIS-Sidney!
Thumbs down. Bring back Hawaii. Much better cast and writing. I quit watching all NCIS shows when Hawaii was canceled so abruptly. CBS lost a lot of viewers over that.
I really, really love NCIS Sydney! I have liked all the NCIS series, but this one is probably my second favorite one, after the original NCIS! NCIS Hawaii is probably my third favorite, but, unfortunately that has already been canceled. I also used to watch “New Orleans” and “Los Angeles”, so I think I am a good judge of the NCIS shows. I hope this one continues for many seasons with the same level of writing and acting.
