As expected, there was a good amount of drop off between weeks one and two. Episode two drew a 2.7 rating in the demo with 8.54 million, a loss of 18%. Hopefully this will be the end of the erosion but my gut is that it isn’t. CSI easily won the timeslot this time around.
Season average: 3.0 demo with 9.28 million.
Episode 01-01: Wednesday, 9/21/11
It was a positive debut for Revenge with a 3.3 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 10.02 million viewers. That was good enough for the drama to win its timeslot. One the downside however, the series lost a lot of viewers between the start and finish of the hour. It went from a 3.8 in the demo (thanks to Modern Family) and ended with a 3.0. That’s a sign that those people who switched it off mid-way won’t be back next week.
Note: These ratings are collected by the Nielsen company and are the final national numbers. These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings and are reported on by most other outlets. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.
What do you think? Do you like the Revenge TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a second season?

I LOVE THIS SHOW! It is the best thing I have seen in a very long time. The actors are amazing, the story lines are terrific and the casting is spot on. The only negative comment I have is that the teenage relationship doesnt seem very relevant but that could all change.
LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS PROGRAM! I LOOK FORWARD TO WEDNESDAY NIGHTS FOR THIS REASON ALONE.
This show keeps me guessing from week to week. It is that good — and I have friends who look forward to watching it every week. The show is great; please keep it on the air!!!!!!
I never miss an episode..love, love, love!!!!!
I also hope this show will be renewed! I don’t think I could stand it after watching it for so many weeks to have it leave us hanging……like so many other shows in the past. It’s such a disservice to the fans of the show. Maybe these days producers should film an ending to a show at the beginning of the season that at least ties up the loose ends so we won’t be left frustrated if it gets cancelled.
I love this show; please keep it on the air!
I love this show!!!!!!!!!
This is one smartly written show that keeps the plot delving deeper and deeper from the pilot episode answering questions along the way. Mike Kelley has another home run. Please renew for season 2-?
I really hope they don’t cancel Revenge. The show is very good and gives me something to watch. ABC always does this, and never gives a show enough time too build. I’m sick of the reality shows and really need some good drama to follow. I also like the fact that good sitcoms are coming back. Myself and a group of friends all watch this show and will really pissed if it is cancelled.
I love love love Revenge. Can’t wait for each Wednesday. I hope it’s not cancelled.
I REALLY love this show.I look forward each week to the next episode. It is appointment TV for Wednesday nights! It is so well written with great character development like you find in a good novel. What a relief from the brainless Reality Show garbage that seems to dominate TV land these days. It seems like the “dumbing down” of America is alive and well with the network producers of television. I hope they don’t allow loyal viewers to once again get hooked on a series only to have it canceled with no resolution or satisfactory finale. This happens over… Read more »
thank you for expressing exactly how I feel it is frustrating to invest so much into a series only to have it canceled. For the first time all the networks have contributed shows that are worthy–Ringer, Person of Interest, A Gifted Man and of course Revenge why must Great shows be subject to ratings because the public wants fluff.
Ditto what Laurie wrote! I too wouldn’t want to see it get canceled before Emily gets her Revenge. It’s different seeing Emily Van Camp as a mean-spirited person – used to her as being nice, Rebecca on Brothers & Sisters.
I think it is one of the best shows on TV. This well-acted show keep you wnting to see more. PLEASE KEEP IT ON THE AIR!
I love Revenge! Yes, I know I’m not in the demographic the networks are chasing, but I really like this show, and I can’t wait to see the next week’s installment. It’s well-acted and has an interesting bunch of characters. I’d hate to see it end before Amanda/Emily gets to exact revenge on Victoria.
Love the show Revenge…I don’t know what they’ll do once she has gotten everyone back who hurt her father…my question is where did she get all her money? I hope the “PTB” will give this show a chance and keep it on the air!
Don’t cancel REVENGE! For a long time there was nothing on Wednesdays. Truthfully, never even watched ABC for years. Then came MODERN FAMILY. And now they have MODERN FAMILY and REVENGE on Wednesdays. Woohoo! (Sometimes we watch HAPPY ENDINGS which can be clever and funny when it’s not vulgar and silly. Love Wayans!!)
