Last year, the ratings for Royal Pains dropped a lot — nearly 35% in the 18-49 demographic and 43% in viewers. It wasn’t cancelled but USA Network renewed it for two short seasons of eight episodes each. It’s believed that season eight will be the end. Could the ratings rebound and lead to a ninth year? Stay tuned.
Royal Pains follows the continuing adventures of a former ER doctor (Mark Feuerstein) from New York who, along with his younger brother (Paulo Costanzo), runs a concierge doctor business in The Hamptons. The show’s cast includes Reshma Shetty, Brooke D’Orsay, Campbell Scott, Ben Shenkman, and Henry Winkler.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s chances of staying on the air. The higher the ratings, the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.

Reference point: Season six of Royal Pains averaged a 0.52 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 2.02 million total viewers.
Note: These ratings are collected by the Nielsen company and are the final national numbers. These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings and are reported on by most other outlets. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.
What do you think? Do you like the Royal Pains TV series? Do you think it should end with season eight?
Greetings from Germany! I really love Royal Pains and hope it will go on and on and on … Campbell Scott is the Best 🙂
Love Royal Pains! Please do not cancel…
I really enjoyed Royal Pains. But the network is the killer of the show. Holding interest in a program that is only on for a few weeks, and reappears months later IS the cause of loosing interest in the show. Same think with Suits. Looses momentum and interest is lost.
I not only don’t think Royal Pains should be cancelled, but I think it should be on year-round. I have been waiting for it to return and I am very disappointed that these messages indicate it may be cancelled. So sad.
If the ratings were low, it’s because it is to hard to find when the show is airing. I actually missed the first 4 episodes because I didn’t know the new season had started. Royal Pains is one of the few shows that has a even and balanced mixture of seriousness and humor…it’s nice to see good old fashioned shows that doesn’t have violence, sex, drugs, etc…the world is full of the madness and drama…I want to disengage in all the craziness and watch a show that ties up like a nice bow on a thoughtful gift! Please don’t cancel… Read more »
We are LOVING Royal Pains on Netflix. Tonight we got to the last available episode. So SAD!! I can’t really tell by this article if it’s done/over, but I’m hoping I’m reading it wrong & there will be more to come.
Mk
Additional comment. It has been hard to find it each season, but it is a marvelous show. Uplifting, interesting. No one is murdered or eaten by Zombies. It is funny. So many more stories to tell. Get back to Hank and Evan, etc. Just the good stories from the beginning and quit trying to make it so complicated. Really hope it is given more seasons. I look forward to the summer to see it. Sad to think it will be gone :O(
Love Royal Pains. do not cancel please
I love the show Royal Pains and I don’t think they should keep it. The actors work very well together.
Do not ancel royal pains. I think it’s ratings issues have more to do with the fact Itis hard to keep track of when it is airing than it has with viewership or content. Half the tim I cannot find it or know it is on..
We want to see even become a Dad and there are so many unfinished story lines
I miss Roy. Pains
PLEEEEEEAASE DO NOt CANCEL it
It’s an uplifting show( not enough of them on TV these days) The characters are great
I love Royal :Pains. My husband and I watched seasons 1-6 in 6 weeks! So sad to see the numbers dropping. I will miss this show if they cancel.
Seems silly that a show that only produces 8 episodes a year should be allowed to continue. I used to like the show, but it’s not worth waiting an entire year for 8.
Please don’t cancel Royal pains.
I love everything about Royal Pains
