Back in 1997, David Boreanaz made a big splash for three seasons as Angel on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and then for five seasons in the same role, in the Angel spin-off. After only a year off screen, he returned to star as Seeley Booth for all 12 seasons of Bones on FOX. Without taking much of a breather, Boreanaz is back as Jason Hayes in the new SEAL Team TV show on CBS. Has he brought his serious small-screen staying power to the Tiffany Network? Will SEAL Team be cancelled or renewed for season two? Stay tuned.
A military action drama, SEAL Team stars Boreanaz, Max Thieriot, Neil Brown Jr., AJ Buckley, Toni Trucks, Jessica Paré, and Judd Lormand. The CBS TV series centers on an exclusive Navy SEAL unit as they train for, plan, and risk their very lives to carry out perilous missions for the sake and honor of the U.S.A. Fierce and focused Jason Hayes (Boreanaz) leads the Tier One team. Despite the hardship it causes them and their families, this SEAL team is ready, willing, and able to embark upon secret missions at the drop of a hat. Their love of country and deep resolve is unmatched. **Status update, below.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly in the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — typically around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
5/17 update: You can see the rest of the latest night’s ratings.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you like the SEAL Team TV series? Should it be cancelled or renewed for second season on CBS?
**3/27/2018 update: SEAL Team has been renewed for season two on CBS. Details here.
This an absolutely fantastic show the most real that I have ever seen . I am former Marine Pilot. Great Actors, photography. Screen play is excellent. They really act like Seals. Not all shoot it up . It’s about teamwork, integration of intelligence , Military and personal. Excellent
This is a really good program. Our absolute favorite. Give this show a chance. The entire cast is really good. Let David Boreanaz shave once in a while to show off his appealing face.
Best show I have seen in a long time, it is like being at the theater watching a good action movie, we always want more, so we watch 2 episodes at a time. a great show. If it is getting bad ratings, it must have a bad time slot, because it is amazing.
Great show. Very believable because the protagonists don’t succeed all the time and even when they do complete their tasks, they often run into unforseen problems. Added to this are all the things that are going on in the lives of the team members. I know the ratings have dropped since it first aired but I hope that while it is still running, more people will discover and love it.
Love this show, but not loving Jessica Paré at all. First off, it has to have the nothing goes as planned aspect or it would be borrrrring! Second, of course it’s not actual ST tactics… like we’re really going to broadcast those??? DUH! Love David Boreanaz!
I am a female 63 and I really like this show
The show has made great strides and will continue to do so; the creators are wisely consulting true operators. I think it will get better and better and actually educate the public as true consultants with real world experience get more involved.
Great show, I really hope it sticks around.
I am enjoying the show very much!!!!! Keep it coming
Excellant show! One of my fav shows this season. Im a little concerned how it keeps slipping in the ratings. Glad they ordered a full season though.
Great show
Best new show on any channel!! Boreanaz is a fine actor.
The show is ok but the writing is not great, the story are unrealistic, the team’s get caught by enemies too often to fit the myth of our SEAL teams. The dialog is spoken too fast to understand & with the exception of Mr. Boreanaz, the acting is not all that good.
It should be renewed for the second season already! It’s a great show with a great ensemble cast!
This is a good show. Very real . Keep it going.
So far, so good. I liked the show & I like the characters on the pilot. We will see how it develops
