Last year, of the 26 scripted CBS TV series we tracked during the regular season, the SEAL Team TV show ranked eighth in the demo and 12th in terms of total audience size. If that was just beginner’s luck, the ratings will drop off in the second season. But if this show has the soul of a warrior, it could even increase its audience this time around. Will SEAL Team be cancelled or renewed for season three? Stay tuned. *Status update below.
A CBS military drama, SEAL Team stars David Boreanaz, Max Thieriot, Neil Brown Jr., AJ Buckley, Toni Trucks, Jessica Paré, and Judd Lormand. The action-adventure series centers on an exclusive Navy SEAL unit as they train for, plan, and risk their very lives to carry out perilous missions for the sake and honor of the U.S.A. Fierce and focused Jason Hayes (Boreanaz) leads the Tier One team. Despite the hardship it causes them and their families, this SEAL team is ready, willing, and able to embark upon secret missions at the drop of a hat. Their love of country and deep resolve is unmatched.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly in the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — typically around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
5/23 update: You can see the latest night’s ratings in context.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
For comparisons: The first season of SEAL Team on CBS averaged a 1.01 rating in the 18-49 demo and a total audience of 6.660 million viewers.
Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you like the SEAL Team TV series? Should it be cancelled or renewed for third season on CBS?
*5/9/19 update: CBS has renewed SEAL Team for a third season.
They should not take those 3 week to 2 month long breaks. It kills the ratings. I guess people who dont have DVR’s forgot about the show or something. Hope it still squeaks by for a 3rd season so that it can get the 4th as well!!
Please renew!! I love this show! Coming from a military family, it hits close to home.
Love Seal Team. Who wouldn’t? Please renew. So little good to watch…too much “reality”trash on…
I love this show and hope you don’t cancel it
Love the show
Need season 3 please keep it going
Love it one of the shows I need to get me through the week
I love this show! Plz bring season 3 on
Don’t mess with show !! Networks are always cancelling the very best shows and leaving us with new crap shows, mostly stupid reality. Shortening the seasons is just wrong – stop doing that or you will lose viewers. (BTW I bet there more viewers over the age of 49 than in the in the 18-49 demo group the ratings are based on -need to change that to be reality TV ) Please Renew this one!
You are SO right! Well said, thank you!
Please renew Seal Team. It is the best show on TV. I bought Season 1 and will buy Season 2 when available. It needs time to build an audience. Being off for months slowed the ratings. Give it a chance. The fact that they hire so many veterans for the show is a bonus!
Definitelt renew SEAL TEAM…our TIER ONE military guys nee D all the love, attention & understanding they can get for their sactifices. Too much voyerism mess on t.v.
