When The Class was first being developed, CBS, FOX, and NBC got into a bidding war over the sitcom. CBS ultimately won and the series landed on Monday nights, the network’s only comedy night.
Though the series attracted a core group of loyal viewers, The Class never became a big hit with critics or the general audience. The show’s ratings were moderate at best and CBS cancelled The Class after 19 episodes. Because the final episode was filmed prior to the cancellation, the show ended with several cliffhangers.

They had mini black characters on the show like Melanie Deacon and Jerry Rice though. The series was cancelled so they probably weren’t given any area for development in this criteria. I’ve been watching reruns of the show on E4 and Youtube and I think it’s really funny but it’s v. sad they cancelled the show leaving it on a huge cliffhanger. I felt really bad for Ethan sitting outside Kat’s apartment and would really love for him to get together with Kat in a (hopefully) future episode. Isn’t there like some sort of petition. There was someone for everyone to enjoy in that show!! The show even won the People’s Choice Award as the best new comedy that year so I think it was right on track to be a big succuess!! Pleasssse consider bringing it back on ~~ or at the VERY LEAST, could someone please make a DVD for Season one’s episodes? At least we could all have that to make us laugh !!

The Class won the People’s Choice Award for best new show. why did CBS cancel it?
It is one of my all time favorite comedy series! I also like “The Big Bang Series” and enjoyed “Back to You”.
Please bring the show back.. it is awesome and it had done do well and won an award.. MISS THE SHOW !!!

I seriously miss the show completely… The class was probably the most greatest sitcom since friends, atually better than friends!! I am anxious and really want to know what happened with the last episode.

I thought The Class was the next best thing since Friends was cancelled. I loved the characters. I would love to see it come back. I get so mad every time they start a really really good show and don’t even give it a chance to get going. The characters were awesome on this show. BRING IT BACK!
The Class was really just starting to pick up and it was only the first season. Good shows take a bit to pick up an audience, and CBS had a good thing starting for them. CBS should bring back THE CLASS, or better yet for their own stupidity another station should try bringing back THE CLASS… so that if that other station’s ratings boost due to the show, CBS can ask themselves…WHY?!? Please bring “The Class” back, or at least give us a handful of episodes for a happy ending. Give us that much. If this show comes back, words cannot express how happy I would be.
We loved this show! I’m still hoping they’ll bring it back! I don’t know why they kept The Big Bang Theory and cancelled The Class! I would have done the opposite.
I’m even watching The Class reruns on another channel…
