Last week, FOX gave viewers a sneak preview of one of their new series — The Good Guys. The TV show is set for a summer run and already has a spot on the network’s fall schedule. Will it last that long?
The Good Guys is an action comedy that pairs a washed-up, old-school cop (Bradley Whitford) with a young, by-the-book detective (Colin Hanks). Others in the series include Jenny Wade, Diana-Maria Riva, Jennifer Besser, Kimberly Lynn Campbell, Kennith Edwards, Nathan Fane, and Arthur Wooldridge.
Last Wednesday’s premiere attracted a disappointing 1.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 4.93 million viewers. That put the TV show’s debut in fourth place in total viewership and tied for third in the coveted demographic with NBC’s Minute to Win It.

That’s hardly a great start and doesn’t bode well for the series’ future. Ratings typically drop lower for a show’s second episode and Good Guys doesn’t exactly have any to spare.
The network isn’t giving up though and has scheduled extra chances to see the pilot by re-airing it this Friday (May 28th) and again on Monday, May 31st. The Good Guys’ regular season will then begin on Monday, June 7th.
Based on the early ratings, one could expect that the series would have a quiet summer run and then be gone. However, FOX had such faith in the series that they gave it a spot on the fall schedule, following Human Target on Friday nights.
Ratings expectations are lower for summers and Friday nights. However, it seems highly unlikely that, unless viewership improves, the show will last beyond the first season.

Todays television is flooded with “reality” shows. The Good Guys is a fun and refreshing change for “real” people who just want to be entertained. House, Bones and the Good Guys are the three shows watched faithfully in our household. Remove the Good Guys and Fox’s advertiser exposure is down 33% where we’re concerned.
I am so tired of the viewers with no taste and no intelligence choosing what everyone will watch on tv. There is so little worth watching. It is always about the ratings and the money.
BRING BACK THE GOOD GUYS.

Please bring The Good Guys back!!! Finally a funny show that is good! I am so sick of stupid reality shows and this show is a breath of fresh air! The characters are great and the storyline goode. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!!!

The good guys is a great show! It has a great plot and its funny. It is a wonderful change from all the #&@! reality shows. You need to bring it back

Pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeee don’t take the show off the air. I love it. It is so funny. If it’s not doing so good on one night put it on another night but I’ll say it again don’t take it off.
My husband and I love this show…please don’t cancel it…it was THE ONLY show worth watching on Friday night…now there is nothing without it !!!

our adult family thought the episodes to be quite funny because it was ridiculous much of the time–a relief compared to the more serious cop shows. we realy hope the series will continue–thanks, we got a big kick out of dan and the rest of the cast is great also.
Somebody please pick it up. Finally a really enjoyable, clean family comedy. The actors are all great and Dan is hilarious. We love him.
