The Walking Dead: Darly Dixon returns next year, and viewers are getting new details about the fourth and final season of the AMC series. A teaser for the new episodes has also been released.
Norman Reedus and Melissa McBride star in the series, which has followed the pair’s journey as they try to make it back home. It has been revealed that Jimmy Smits will appear in season four.
AMC shared the following about the final season and the role Smits will play:
“AMC unveiled today a first look at the final season of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, set to premiere in 2027. Emmy(R) and Golden Globe(R) Award-winner Jimmy Smits (NYPD Blue, The West Wing) joins series stars Norman Reedus and Melissa McBride as Walking Dead fan favorites “Daryl” and “Carol” in the highly anticipated new season set in Spain.
In the final season, while crossing the ravaged badlands of Spain, “Daryl” (Reedus) and “Carol” (McBride) grasp onto hope – and each other – as uncertainty about their future grows. Smits plays “Captain Alejandro Perkins,” a former U.S. Navy officer and medical doctor who found a unique way to thrive during the apocalypse.
The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon also stars Romain Levi, Eduardo Noriega, Óscar Jaenada, Candela Saitta and Hugo Arbués and is executive produced by showrunner David Zabel, Scott M. Gimple, Reedus, McBride, Greg Nicotero, Brian Bockrath, Angela Kang, Jason Richman, Dan Percival and Steve Squillante.”
