Tonight marks the last scheduled episode of low-rated Undercovers. NBC has 13 installments of the cancelled TV show but only scheduled 11 of them. There’s no word on when or if the other two will see the light of day. So, what are fans missing?
Undercovers co-creator and executive producer Josh Reims told Blastr back in October that, “The main direction that we’re headed in the overall scheme of things is we have some mythology that’s starting to play out in the show now which will get larger and larger as we go along.”
Reims continued, “We find out in episode 12 or 13, I can’t remember which, the real reason that Steven and Samantha were actually brought back to the CIA. And it’s not just to save Leo, who was their friend. There’s much more involved in that.” Based on episode titles, it would seem that number 13, “The Reason,” holds the big secret. Episode 12 is titled “Dark Cover.”
Reims added, “There’s stuff that Carlton Shaw [Gerald McRaney] doesn’t know. He was left out of the loop by his boss. So everybody is sort of thrown for a loop near the end of the season and readjusting to what things are, as opposed to what they thought they were.” Shaw’s boss, James Kelvin (Alan Dale from Lost) was just introduced.
Of the Undercovers cancellation, Reims told Zap2It, “I’m really proud of the show. I thought it looked amazing and I loved working with the cast and crew. We had a lot of fun.” He added, “The show turned out pretty much the way I envisioned, and when it didn’t, it was actually better.” Reims admitted that the show just couldn’t attract a big enough audience to survive.
Whether the final two installments are aired or not, the last episode of Undercovers will leave fans up in the air. Reims noted, “I think the episodes are getting stronger every week, and I’m sorry we have to stop at 13, because we had so many more stories to tell with these people. Not to mention we have a great mythology arc… and [it] ends with a cliffhanger.”
NBC hasn’t announced any plans to release the remaining episodes of Undercovers.
What do you think? Will NBC ever air the last two episodes? How would you like to see the series end?

I loved this show and I am sad to hear it has been cancelled!! I feel the network should air the two final episodes and let the show leave the air with dignity. I love Boris Kodjoe and his lovely co star Gugu and I thought they did an amazing job!
I really loved this show. It was nice to see a show where the couple worked together, showed concern for other family members, andowed their own bussiness. I am a black female who loved watching a postive show about my race of people. Please allow us to see the two last shows. but I would love to see it continue as a serie.
I really liked this show and looked forward to watching it every week. It’s a shame that the show is being cancelled I guess if this was a reality show the ratings would have been higher. If nothing else at least show the last two episodes especially for the the true fans of the show. This goes to show that again there is nothing but junk on TV and shows that are actually worth watching don’t stand a chance unless they are full of drama or just dumb as hell.
I watched all the eps and loved it. Why in earth do you guys have to spoil it and stop the serie. Why? And these two last eps? Can we AT LEAST find out why ? Common people. I know you guys care more about the $$ you make than the consumer’s satisfaction but common. Give us a break.
I am so sorry to see Undercovers being cancelled. It was a very entertaining show. I certainly would like to see the last two episodes show. In fact I would rather see this show than much of the junk on NBC. It was a refreshing bit of humor. And they were so cute together!!
Please help us out here!
Great Show it was a mistake to cancel this tv series. NBC please re-air the last two episodes at least.
Great show, I’ll miss it. I must say that if I were going to all the work and expense of putting together a show – the last place I would want it aired would be NBC or ABC. These guys never give shows a chance to build an audience. Much better to be on CBS or TNT or somewhere like that. NBC in particular cannot seem to find a direction. They dropped all their fiction for talk shows in 2009 and when that failed they seem to have learned nothing. It is not worth getting attached to one of their… Read more »

Initially, I thought it was corny. These people could fly up walls (almost)! Still, I never missed a show. As the show progressed, it got better. I love this show, and NBC should give it a chance (PLEASE). Maybe another time slot. I especially loved both the Leo and Hoyt characters. They are hilarious and make the show so much fun!
I was really sad that they canceled this show. It was fun and different. I love that it wasn’t the typical show that we see everyday. The couple was great together. The show had great action, a great story and I wish that they would have finished out the entire season. What a disappointment that they had to cancel it.
I CANNOT believe this refreshing series is cancelled. It was one of the best NBC had for the season. It was exciting, funny and starred two great actors. They have got to be crazy. A big lost on their part!!!
I was excited by the premise of the show and I faithfully watched it every week. I am very disappointed to hear that it has been canceled. I thought that it was a great show! Two people who were ex-CIA operatives are brought back in and have to find a way to balance their lives of their business, their cases and their relationship. They were intelligent, cultured and they showed the complexities within a good relationship. What’s not to love here? I must agree with many of the respondents; this show is better than most of the realty show fare… Read more »
Best looking couple on TV.
ONE OF THE BEST SHOWS IN A LONG TIME. IT WAS A MISTAKE TO CANCEL IT
I was really excited about this show when it first aired. I am very disappointed to see that it has been canceled. It brought a different, fresh spin to mainstream television. Why must we be forced to watch all of the crappy reality tv shows? And if another show about detectives, lawyers, or doctors comes on, I’m going to scream!
