Tonight marks the last scheduled episode of low-rated Undercovers. NBC has 13 installments of the cancelled TV show but only scheduled 11 of them. There’s no word on when or if the other two will see the light of day. So, what are fans missing?
Undercovers co-creator and executive producer Josh Reims told Blastr back in October that, “The main direction that we’re headed in the overall scheme of things is we have some mythology that’s starting to play out in the show now which will get larger and larger as we go along.”
Reims continued, “We find out in episode 12 or 13, I can’t remember which, the real reason that Steven and Samantha were actually brought back to the CIA. And it’s not just to save Leo, who was their friend. There’s much more involved in that.” Based on episode titles, it would seem that number 13, “The Reason,” holds the big secret. Episode 12 is titled “Dark Cover.”
Reims added, “There’s stuff that Carlton Shaw [Gerald McRaney] doesn’t know. He was left out of the loop by his boss. So everybody is sort of thrown for a loop near the end of the season and readjusting to what things are, as opposed to what they thought they were.” Shaw’s boss, James Kelvin (Alan Dale from Lost) was just introduced.
Of the Undercovers cancellation, Reims told Zap2It, “I’m really proud of the show. I thought it looked amazing and I loved working with the cast and crew. We had a lot of fun.” He added, “The show turned out pretty much the way I envisioned, and when it didn’t, it was actually better.” Reims admitted that the show just couldn’t attract a big enough audience to survive.
Whether the final two installments are aired or not, the last episode of Undercovers will leave fans up in the air. Reims noted, “I think the episodes are getting stronger every week, and I’m sorry we have to stop at 13, because we had so many more stories to tell with these people. Not to mention we have a great mythology arc… and [it] ends with a cliffhanger.”
NBC hasn’t announced any plans to release the remaining episodes of Undercovers.
What do you think? Will NBC ever air the last two episodes? How would you like to see the series end?

Oh I’m so bummed ! Undercovers was SO good! It was good to see Gerald Mcraney in a great role . I miss this show. I agree with the other comment that they didn’t give it enough time.
Can’t believe the show was cancelled. It was awesome. Am really going to miss it!
WHAT..I had my VCR ready to record the remaining episodes and its gone..shame on you NBC for not continuing this series….I rather enjoyed it…at least finish it out for goodness sadke
OMG!!! PLEASE SOMEONE MAKE THEM NOT CANCEL THE SHOW!!!!!! i love it i just never knew when it aired i always caught it on demand!!!!! seriously who can i talk to about this? i seriously am about to petition this!!
Loved this show! Characters were gorgeous and it was fun to watch.
I really believe that they need to have a marathon nite with all the shows including the last two never shown. Then let the people that watched the marathon.Vote on the comeback or kill the show. When they perform together that will show others it’s a keeper.
THIS IS REDICULOUS. THE SHOW WAS GREAT. GOOD ACTING. GOOD TIMING. GREAT SCREEN PLAY. LOVE THE CHARACTORS. SUCH A GOOD SHOW FOR THE KIDS AND ADULTS. WHY IS EVERYTHING ABOUT MONEY. THIS SHOW WAS A HIT IN THE MAKING..,..
Please bring back Undercovers! I loved the show, its characters and the espionage themes. The characters were so refreshing and exciting to watch. Bring back reruns of the show if you can. I really miss seeing this interesting and insightful program.
I know business is business, BUT, all the crap shows and reality shows, I don’t understand them. You put out good entertainment and and it does not sell. Just shows you what this country is turning to. Crap!!! This show was a very good one, try it in another position before you dump it.
Really loved the show… enjoyed the good looks and romance between the two main characters. I find it difficult to believe and I am puzzuled as to why the show was not a hit. I am very disappointed that we have not been given the opportunity to at least view the final two episodes.
I enjoyed the show and the characters. It was as cute as the old series ‘Hart to Hart’. They just didn’t the skill set this couple had. This couple was loving, good together, intelligent and able to pull off the undercover intelligence piece. Wish they hadn’t cancelled before they had a chance to get more viewers interested. Perhaps some syndication will cause a revival of this program.
unbelievable! Cant figure out why good shows are being cancelled and the cheezy ones are kept. oh..yeah, the type of people that are just home who prefers downgraded shows, ofcourse. There are just a few corprate people that for most part can only make time to watch it online. I wish there were more of us, this show probably would’ve stayed. The storyline surpassed the color of their skin. The show is brilliant. I hope a cable network picks it up!
Great show, finally something different, nice to see a loving couple taking care of each other and nice to see a show have a strong female lead with out making the male lead a wimp. Color, who notices color its just a great show. Bring it back. show us the last two shows.
I just knew this was going to happen. America is not used to seeing people of color in romantic and action dramas on tv. They looked good together…the plots were getting better each week…and they were brilliant in their careers. I am a big fan of it. Put on in syndication with newer episodes.
This was the reason I thought it wouldn’t last long from the outside. I now hate that I liked the show because I’ll never know “the reason”.
I agree with the other posts, this was a wonderful show very refreshing and intelligent. I think it just needed more time for people to be aware of it.
