Sadly, the Visitors aren’t among us any longer. After two short seasons, ABC has cancelled their V TV series.
A reimagining of the original V, this series tells the tale of what happens when an advanced alien race arrives of Earth professing their desire to help mankind. Fortunately, not everyone trusts them. The second season features the talents of Charles Mesure, Elizabeth Mitchell as Erica Evans, Joel Gretsch, Laura Vandervoort, Logan Huffman, Morena Baccarin, Morris Chestnut, and Scott Wolf.
For season one, V ended up averaging a 2.25 rating in the coveted 18-49 demographic and 5.7 million average viewers. It was “on the bubble” but ended up being renewed for a 13 episode second season. The network was hoping that the show would catch on and the ratings would improve.

ABC later reduced the episode order to just 10 installments and debuted them mid-season. Unfortunately, ABC’s gamble didn’t pay off. Season two of V ended up averaging only a 1.9 in the demo and 5.49 million viewers.
Though the network and producers maintained that the show was still in contention for next season, it was clear that there would only be a third season of V if ABC was willing to gamble once again. In the end, they weren’t.
ABC confirmed today that V has been cancelled after two seasons and 22 episodes. The series finale aired on March 15th and, unfortunately, there were lots of unresolved cliffhangers. Hopefully the producers will someday share what they had in mind for season three.
What do you think? Are you sad that V won’t be returning next season? Why do you think the series didn’t catch on?

The spineless decision to cancel the series without a resolution goes down in history is one of ABC’s dumbest moves. Farscape has its own TV channel that runs 24 seven but they couldn’t even handle wrapping up a plot line with a third season after cutting to only 10 episodes in the second season. Who are these morons running the Network?
Can we at least have a movie to tie up all the loose ends? It was such a good show! I’m giving ABC a failing grade for just leaving us hanging!
The new V is an excellent show its crazy, not to mention they dumped on the fans, idiots.
Why even bother with a show if you can’t commit to finishing it? 3 seasons would have been nothing in the grand scheme of things. Sadly, I chose to watch not Knowing it was cancelled. I’m beyond upset.
I became addicted to the V series. I rarely watch any series at all but this one has a meaning to it of what is happening today in 2023. Many things that are the same in our world now. There are no coincidences. Bring the series back.
I’m filthy RICH! I’ll float the series 3 cost!
I’m a Star Trek Fan. V was Great but took me down when 2:10 slapped me in the face as last one! 1. You should have advertized more. 2. You should have shot an ending first out of shooting chronology! We all could have had at least a nice ending. V is not at fault, it’s the stupid producers. But maybe, just maybe, you’ll do Series 3 anyway!!!
V can still come back and finish what was started. I think that people are more ready now than ever before to consider Alien contact and a possible invasion.
The show was before its time. If they put out a new season now it would be one of the most popular shows on tv. Most people weren’t into Alien Invasion when the show came out NOW everyone is on the whole Alien Invasion scenario with all the talk about UFO undisclosed by the government..,
