Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist will air its season one finale later tonight on NBC, and the man in charge is hoping fans will see a second season of the dramedy next season, even if we don’t know when next season will arrive yet.
Austin Winsberg spoke with TV Line about the future of the NBC series. He said the following:
“I am cautiously optimistic for a Season 2. I had to pitch Season 2 to [NBC execs] two-and-a-half weeks ago, so I have fully mapped out all of Season 2. The network was very happy with the creative direction. They’re very happy with the show in general. There’s just a lot for [NBC] to figure out because the world is put on hold, and they don’t know when shooting’s allowed to start again and what their needs are going to be. But I know we have a lot of internal support, and we have a lot of nice external support, as well. So I think we’re all feeling cautiously optimistic for more.”
So far, season one of Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist has averaged 2 million viewers per episode.
What do you think? Are you a fan of Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist? Do you want a second season?
Please renew!
I really like this show! I’m hoping it gets renewed. There is definitely more show to tell. What happened to each family member following what occurred in the finale. And more!
Fabulous, I think it has a lot of potential! I sure hope it gets renewed
What a damn good show. From belly laughs to ugly cries. Please renew for season 2!!!!!
Best show I’ve seen in the last 10 years. Great characters. Phenomenal performances by Jane Levy, Stephanie Styles, and Skyler Astin. Watching these shows over and over has partially made up for the absence of sports.
I love the show. It’s a little different and that’s what I love about it. There are so many different types of problems throughout the show that it’s bound to relate to someone’s own personal situation.
Zoe’s Extraordinary Playlist is original, funny, sweet, and highly entertaining. PLEASE bring it back for season 2!!
I got a late start watching the show. I kept meaning to tune in. Then when I started working from home, I watched my first episode and couldn’t stop watching. I watched all the episodes available and caught up. Now, I’m sad that I have to wait until next season to see more. I love how the music was infused into the show. Everyone had a song at some point. The show ended sadly but I can’t wait to see how Zoe moves on.
I love this show and have gotten several others to tune in as well. I hope that NBC renews for the 20/21 season. It’s combination of humor and serious, it’s like the flip same of This is Us. One knows that one may cry but you always know you are going to feel better!
Honestly, if NBC makes the huge mistake of not renewing it, pitch it to other stations. I’m hoping for multiple seasons and not just one more. It’s an amazing show. It has became my new favorite show. At times it has a hit a little close to home in the sense of having a sick father not from the same illness though. It definitely is an emotional rollercoaster but definitely in a good way. It has managed to capture every ounce of my attention and get me hooked on the storyline. I’m so sick of all the reality music shows… Read more »
I never loved a show so much. Yes, it’s corny, but the writers are so creative and the actors are tremendous. Please, NBC, renew!
Love the characters and concept and great music and dancing. AND well-written.
I absolutely love this show!! I heard some buzz about the show & then ran across it while flipping the dial. I decided to give it a try. I was about 5 min late, into the 5th episode & realized I needed to start from the beginning. I started streaming and didn’t stop until three episodes later! I could not believe I found a show I liked so much! You have to understand I haven’t liked TV much since NBC had Thursday nights, MUST SEE TV in the 90’s. I love the music……. the story line, Zoey & the whole… Read more »
I am a huge fan of Zoeys’ Extraordinary Playlist. Anxiously looking forward to a Season Two. Even when the subject matter is and serious it manages to be uplifting. Please keep it going.
My family all loves Zoey. We watch each episode many times. We love every character, main and auxiliary , and love every storyline. We can’t wait to see where season two takes us.
