The ABC network has been announcing its new Fall 2006 schedule this week. As part of that, they’ve been telling us what won’t be returning, much to the dismay of some TV viewers. It turns out that none of the scripted series introduced on ABC last fall will be returning.
Commander in Chief – ABC will begin airing the remaining new episodes on Wednesday, May 31, 2006. Fans of the series will be able to purchase Commander in Chief on DVD in the Fall. I would expect there to be some interesting supplemental materials concerning this promising but troubled series. (Download Commander in Chief on iTunes)
Crumbs – The outrageous comedy with Jane Curtin, William Devane and Fred Savage is not on the ABC Fall 2006 schedule. Five of the existing eight episodes were aired.
The Evidence – This Rob Estes drama shot six episodes (aired four) and has been off the schedule since April.
Freddie – ABC will show the unaired pilot episode of the Brian Austin Green and Freddie Prinze, Jr. series on Wednesday, May 31, 2006.
Hope & Faith – After 73 episodes and three seasons, the season finale that aired on May 2nd will be the show’s last. Repeat episodes can be seen on Friday nights beginning June 2, 2006.
In Justice – The Kyle MacLachalan drama has not been picked up for a new season and only produced 13 episodes (all of which have aired).
Invasion – There were reportedly some initial talks of the show being picked up by the new CW network. That became unlikely due to high production costs. The complete Invasion series is available on DVD and features some nice extras.
Less Than Perfect – You can see new episodes starting on Tuesday, May 30, 2006. After four seasons, the show is not on the Fall lineup.
Primetime – For the first time in over 15 years, the veteran news show is not on the fall schedule. The show may return in the form of news specials or if an entertainment show currently on the schedule fails.
Rodney – This show has been missing since February but will return on Tuesday, May 30, 2006 to air unseen episodes.
Sons & Daughters – Fans of this quirky comedy can check out co-creator and series star Fred Goss’ blog for his thoughts on the cancellation.
Other shows that had been cancelled previously include: Alias, Emily’s Reasons Why Not, Hot Properties, Jake in Progress, and Night Stalker.
Keep in mind that, though unlikely, it is possible for shows to be resurrected, especially after a new season starts and new shows don’t garner the ratings that the network hopes for.
According to Jim, What About Brian and George Lopez, which were all on the brink of cancellation, have been renewed for another season. 
Come one, what is wrong with ABC!? They axe Invasion but keep According to Jim?! Invasion is one of my favourite show besides Lost and Arrested Development (which unfortunately suffered the same fate), it had great character development and a great story line which is a lot more than half the shows they are keeping on. I hope everyone has signed the petition to save Invasion, I know I have!
No wonder ABC does not have good rating when you cancel the BEST shows ABC has to offer. Commander and Cheif with Geena Davis has outstanding writers and intricate plot lines that keep you on the edge of your seat. Polictical shows are the best shows since it deals with real life drama. ABC should re-think the cancellation of this show!
The RODNEY Show was a highlight to our evening. Not only has my husband met him but we have seen him in concert and he is just awesome. ABC, I just don’t understand you. We want him back!
ABC is truely becoming diappointing, why would you cancel a great show such as invasion. Wednesday was an excellent night of tv, which is rare, with Lost and Invasion on, that made it a great night of drama. I will not be watching new shows on ABC this season.. why bother they will just cancel a good thing and I will never know the ending..
I am a big big fan of Invasion and when I heard it had been cancelled I just about died. I look forward to seeing this show each and every week and now it is gone with no ending on top of it. I am very disappointed in ABC and I am reluctant to watch any new shows from here on out as I don’t know if I will get to see the endings. I can’t believe they are cancelling Invasion. I watch a lot of TV, but this was like my favorite show. I made sure I could sit down and watch this show every Wednesday night for a whole hour. I have three kids, but they were not to bother me when my show was on. I know I am a nobody to the big TV executives and what I feel probably won’t make any kind of difference to them. Still in all, I wanted to express how much I liked Invasion and wish they had not cancelled the show.
Commander in Chief!!Give it another shot please, UPN did it with Veronica Mars and now it’s on top(I think) I don’t pay much attention to what is happening with how shows rank but Commander in Chief is exceptionally well scripted, acted and directed and freaking interesting don’t cancel it give it another shot..I mean it DID get you lot an Emmy!
I dont know how a GREAT SHOW like THE EVIDENCE would be cancelled. Just goes to show great shows like that and Blind Justice never last.
It’s sad to see three really nice shows (Hope & Faith, Commander in Cheif, and Invasion) being cancelled. All three have done exceptionally well, and are worth airing a few more seasons.
Hello , i have been a fan of invasion sense the first day invasion came on tv its a exciting show and i enjoyed watching it every wednesday after” lost ” it always gave me a reason to stay home on a wed night now that i hear invasion has been canceled its gonna be BORING to sit in front of the tv & just watch lost Please re think about canceling it and bring it back ABC has taken some good shows lately and canceled them bring them back for the viewers to see again ty

I liked “The Evidence” with Rob Estes, saw all 4 episodes shown and hoped for more. I like crime drama and “Rodney” is our favorite comedy. Please do not cancel these quality series. There is too
much reality TV and not enough entertaining series. The writing and comedy on “Rodney” are terrific!!!
“Rodney” ABC TV series-I am 60 and my husband is 63 and we absolutely LOVE “Rodney”, far better than”According To Jim”. We have never laughed so hard at a sitcom, especially when Mac Davis is part of the episodes. Please give it another chance. We have told other people about it but few have even heard of it. Both of our adult sons have gotten hooked on “Rodney” because of us. He and his TV wife,Trina, have perfect chemistry!!!

Is it possible for the people who decide which show will air that at least have the decency to show the end of the series. All the shows that I was checking have been cancelled. Now I am reluctant to see any new shows because I will never see the ending. If the people are like me don’T You think that they will think twice before checking any new shows.
