Robert and Michelle King found success with their last CBS series, The Good Wife. Now, they’re trying something different with BrainDead. How will it perform in the ratings? Cancelled or renewed for season two? Stay tuned.
On BrainDead, Laurel Healy (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) has returned home to Washington, DC to work for her brother, Senator Luke Healy (Danny Pino) on Capitol Hill. She is caught in the midst of two huge problems: the government has stopped working due to budgetary disagreements, and mysterious bugs are eating the brains of a growing number of members of Congress and Hill staffers. The rest of the cast includes Aaron Tveit, Tony Shalhoub, Nikki M. James, Johnny Ray Gill, Charlie Semine, and Jan Maxwell.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
10/18 update: CBS has cancelled BrainDead after one season. Details here.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated charts, please try reloading the page. You can also see them here.
Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you like the BrainDead TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a second season?

I loved “Brain Dead” but only found out about two months ago when I was looking for something to watch and “vox” said it was one of the 20 best shows on TV. I hope they renew it.
Too satirical and original,up there with Fargo. My wife and I both love it
Love the show. First prime time show my husband and I have watched in years. Good job CBS
Correction: Love the show and cast.
Love the show the cast. This is the only new show I viewed this summer.
One of the best shows of the season. Very creative!
This is a very cleverly written and unique series with a great cast. I would love to see this show return as I find this so much fun to watch.
Best show since Six Feet Under! But, I have a hard time seeing where a second season will take us. Surprise me — I’m ready! This is a great show…
Please renew Braindead for season 2. Love everything about this show, the cast, the premise. So different than anything else out there. I look so forward to, watching each week…the best part of summer viewing.
I love brain dead and I hope there will be more seasons ahead.
just wondering why did they say, “the end is coming September 28” if the show ended before that date it had nothing to do with the show and possibly might be a real warning to us about an asteroid hitting earth in September sent by aliens.
I LOVE Brsindead. Most clever show in a long time. Actors are terrific and plot is a combination of hilarious and totally creepy. Just a hoot! Tony Shaloub’ is so good – as always. I can’t wait for each new episode. PLEASE don’t cancel this unique show!
Very good concept, actually ‘mind blowing’. Really nice replacement for the Good Wife. Different but entertaining. Definately need a season two
i love this show! I lived in D.C. bartending for 12 years in the 80’s into the 90’s so the writing on this show has many different meanings for me. Please don’t cancel this show.
i really enjoy the show . It has a great story concept. I hope it is renewed so it can expand the story.
