Fans won’t be seeing what happens to Olivia Lockhart in a fourth season of Cedar Cove. Hallmark Channel has cancelled their first scripted TV show after three seasons and 36 episodes.
Cedar Cove revolves around Olive (Andie MacDowell), a single mother from a small seaside community who’s also a municipal court judge. Olivia does her best to balance her career with family and finding love — all the while doing her best to care for the township she calls home. The rest of the cast includes Dylan Neal, Teryl Rothery, Sarah Smyth, Colin Ferguson, Bruce Boxleitner, Barbara Niven, Brennan Elliot, Corey Sevier, Sebastian Spence, Tom Stevens, Jesse Hutch, Jesse Moss, Emily Tennant, and Timothy Webber.
Hallmark’s first scripted TV series debuted in July 2013 to 2.62 million viewers. Though the TV show lasted three seasons, the ratings dropped each year. The first season of Cedar Cove averaged about two million viewers. The second season averaged 1.87 million and the third season averaged 1.67 million.
The cable channel announced the cancellation on their Facebook page. Here’s the statement:
Cedar Cove was the first series launched on Hallmark Channel, and we are incredibly proud of the exquisitely beautiful three season arc it delivered. It was an honor to bring to life the kindness, consideration and courage of this story that Debbie Macomber envisioned. Our heartfelt thanks go out to the extraordinary cast, writers, artists and designers — especially Andie MacDowell, executive producer and show runner Sue Tenney, and of course, Debbie Macomber. It is a privilege to continue a creative working relationship with the incredible talents associated with this series — both in front of and behind the camera – for upcoming projects on Hallmark Channel USA and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.

While Cedar Cove won’t be returning for Season 4, our beloved #CedarCove cast are all still part of the family! You’ll see Andie MacDowell produce & star in “The Beach House” based on the novel by Mary Alice Monroe. “Debbie Macomber’s Dashing Through the Snow” premieres 12/12 on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. You’ll see Barbara Niven star with Alison Sweeney in the next installment of #MurderSheBaked: A Plum Pudding Mystery” premiering 11/22 also on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. And you’ll see Brennan Elliott star with Mariah Carey & Lacey Chabert in the premiere of #AChristmasMelody Dec 19th on Hallmark Channel USA!
The last episode of Cedar Cove aired on September 26th and ended with lots of unanswered questions.
What do you think? Do you like the Cedar Cove TV show? Do you think that it should have been cancelled or renewed for a fourth season? Would you like to see the characters return someday?
I am very disappointed to see that Cedar Cove was cancelled. I was one who bought the dvd series and watched them that way as probably others did. How can they leave it hanging like that? It seems like there needs to be one more season for some closure!
I’m so disappointed that there has been no closure for this series and it’s characters Whenever this happens it makes one hesitant to get involved with a show Bad Form!
I am so disappointed that Hallmark has cancelled Cedar Cove 4th season. I have read the entire Cedar Cove series by Debbie Macomber & loved every one. There is SO much more of the story to be told!! Even my husband was into watching it with me! Such a good clean story line but even some mystery & intrigue in the books that I was waiting for in the TV series. PLEASE reconsider & bring it back.
I very sad that ceder cove was cancelled. I finding more and more good family shows are being cancelled for repeating tv shows. I wish the people responsible for deciding which shows stay on or cancelling them would give these shows more consideration before cancelling a great tv show. I am really tried of inappropriate tv shows such as reality shows about some tv personality family or crash and bang shows with no story line and than you the horror shows about serial killers. We need more family tv shows and movies that show good values. I DVR all my… Read more »
I was so disappointed to hear Cedar Cove has been cancelled. I was looking forward to season 4. I’m not a big TV watcher but Cedar Cove was one I looked forward too.. Good clean show! Loved it! Please bring it back!
Sooo disappointed that Cedar Cove won’t be back for another season! I looked so forward to the show. My favorite!!!
This is extremely disappointing!! It was the best program on Hallmark. I guess there will be nothing to watch on Hallmark this summer!
What a darn shame that the Hallmark Channel chose to cancel Season 4 of Cedar Cove. Now you left us all hanging, with unresolved issues in the lives of Justine, Olivia, Paul, and others. Come on Debbie MaComber, you have lots of clout. Get this show back on please!!
I can’t believe Cedar Cove was cancelled. It was such a family oriented show with no violence or blood baths! I am a committed Hallmark watcher and even pay extra to get it on my satellite dish. One other thing that annoys me is changing When Calls the Heart and Good Witch to Sunday evenings when they have to compete with Primetime Shows on other networks. Saturday nights was perfect for these shows and it isn’t like they are showing any new movies. It’s almost like they are setting them up to fail.
I’m very sad that they cancelled “Cedar Cove” I would love to know the answers to the questions most people are asking…What happened? I love this show and would love to see it back on…I was always excited every Sunday night to see what happened, I even DVR to watch it again.,Now I want be able to see Olivia chooses and what happened to ALL the characters..I am very unhappy about the show being cancelled!!!!!!
I’m at a loss!! Cesar cove is he one thing I look forward to as this time of year approaches. I cry with excitement as the first night premiers and cry the last night cause I hate to see it end. Please reconsider. There are a lot of us out here who love it so much. I will pray you guys rethink this. Love each of so much. Deborah

I’m very upset with Hallmark! The least they could have done was close some of the stories instead of leaving us hanging. Many networks are doing that and I’m to the point where I have stopped watching new series until they survive a few seasons, because I’m tired of being disappointed. Then, I’ll start from the beginning and watch them all. I love Hallmark programs and movies, but this is ridiculous.
I agree and I may quit watching Hallmark now since they have taken this show off with no ending!
Very disappointed to see Cedar Cive come to an end. Please reconsider!
I am very upset that Hallmark canceled this series , I was looking forward to it this summer , it was a great series to watch . Our household always watch hallmark and great family and decent movies . I hope you will bring it back . Please !
Very disappointed Cedar Cove will not be returning. Why is it that quality shows like this get dropped from a network? I don’t understand it. There’s not many good quality shows on the weekends on regular cable and now there’s one less! If there’s any way to bring it back I know you would have some very happy viewers.
