In its freshman installment, the Code Black TV show earned low ratings for a CBS TV series. Instead of cancelling though, the network renewed it, with the requisite cast changes. Its numbers fell further last year, but it still wasn’t cancelled, probably thanks to licensing deal concessions. Will the third season see the audience grow or further diminish, and if so, how low can it go? Will Code Black be cancelled or renewed for season four? Stay tuned. **Status update below
A CBS medical drama, Code Black stars Marcia Gay Harden, Luis Guzmán, Rob Lowe, Boris Kodjoe, Harry Ford, Benjamin Hollingsworth, William Allen Young, Emily Tyra, Noah Gray-Cabey, Emily Alyn Lind, and Moon Bloodgood. The story unfolds at Angels Memorial Hospital in Los Angeles — the busiest, most notorious ER in the country. The high patient volume dwarfs the resources available to the exceptional staff — creating a condition known as Code Black. .
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly in the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
7/19 update: You can see the rest of the latest night’s ratings.

For comparisons: The second season of Code Black averaged a 0.97 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 5.984 million total viewers (live + same day ratings).
Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you like the Code Black TV series? Should this CBS TV show have been cancelled or renewed for season four?

OMG cbs your nuts..this c was a great show
It was one of the best shows on TV and there are not many! Why do they always cancel the best shows? Put it back on at an earlier time and you will get better ratings!
I’m so upset with the decision to cancel Code Black. This was by far the best show on tv. Please come back
Please don’t cancel code black!!!!!!! One of my favorite medical shows!!!
The show is very realistic, suspenseful, intriguing & keeps you wanting more. Each week we can’t wait for the next show, especially after these last several episodes. It would be a real shame to see tne show discontinued!!
I am beyond angry and disappointed that another CBS show has been cancelled. Every time we get hooked on aa show they pull the plug. I am getting tired if it to the point of going away myself. Changing channels I’ve already give up on NBC and ABC now its looks like it will be you guys next. Guess ill have to go to cable channels. I would like to know who you are polling for the ratings. Young people don’t get interested in shows like we older groups do. Now there will be nothing on for summer time. Not… Read more »
I’m bummed. This was one of my favorite shows
I cannot believe CBS is cancelling such a great drama
I can’t believe Code Black is being cancelled! My favorite show! Every episode moved me to the core. I am so disappointed.
I Am SO Sad & Disappointed That Such A EXCEPTIONALLY WONDERFUL Show, With Exceptionally Great Actors has Been Cancelled!!
Why Doesn’t CBS & the “Powers That Be,” Check With the Over 30 (age), of Their Audiences?!?
I KNOW That If You Polled, Or Checked Ratings, of Those of Us Not A Millennial,…”Code Black” Would Not Be Cancelled!!!
CBS: PLEASE RECONSIDER
Or Executive Producers,…Please Shop Around,…Maybe “NetFlix” Will Take It On!!! #KEEPCODEBLACK
This is a travesty….this show is so well written…the actors and story lines are fantastic…please bring this back. Every show with imagination that I love gets cancelled just like Pure Genius…do you just hate every show that’s fabulous! Guess I’ll just cancel CBS…
We love this show.. It’s our favorite show. Please don’t cancel.. We ove the actors and story lines.. Please renew the show
Boy what a HUGE disappointment CBS! I guess anyone over the age of 30 doesn’t rate anymore. This was one of the best network dramas on in many years. We looked forward to seeing it every week. And now it just goes away. Every single actor on this show is fantastic and will be missed. SHAME!!!
This is such a well done show. It is a victim of scheduling/time slot as usual. I am sad to see it cancelled. I am getting so jaded that I do not want to get invested in these shows anymore because you never know if they will hang around only to get disappointed.
This show should have never been cancelled. But who are we the viewer I am not sure they care of what we say or want.
I love this show and the cast. I love that it is about the hospital and not focusing on the promiscuous habits of the staff. Code Black is one of the few shows that has not succumbed to the perverse need to make everything a soap opera. It is certainly worthy of a 4th season. One of my very short list of favorite shows, and we can actually purchase your sponsors` products. Food for thought…..
