Good news for fans of Jeff Winger (Joel McHale) and the rest of the students and faculty at Greendale Community College. NBC has decided to order a couple more installments of Community. That brings the comedy’s season total to 24 episodes.
Despite airing against CBS’ The Big Bang Theory, Community is NBC’s second most popular sitcom in the all-important 18-49 demographic. Last week, airing opposite $#*! My Dad Says, the show hit a new high with a 2.5 rating in the demo and 5.64 million viewers.
The six episodes that have aired so far this season have averaged a 2.1 rating in the demo and 4.77 million total viewers. That’s down a bit in the demo from last season’s 2.2 average but it’s positive that Community’s holding onto the audience with such strong sitcom competition.

funniest show on TV!!! i love annie and britta!!!
This is something I can sit back, relax, have a beer and have fun watching. Its funny what can I say. Unless they get their degree by the end of this season, I would want a season 3 if not.
I love Community and look forward to it each week!
Great news. Community is one of the few really good sitcoms on the air.
Terrible show. Not the least bit funny.
I respectfully disagee but do you like the competition: The big bang theory?
I completely disagree. I think Community is one of the funniest shows on the air right now. It might not be your “type” of humor but that doesn’t make it terrible.
If you don’t like the show then you shouldn’t have even read the article.
That’s good. The show isn’t perfect, but pretty good. I’m surprised they did despite the ratings. But I’m not complaining.
