Spoilers. The Containment TV show finale airs tonight on The CW at 9:00pm ET/PT. Containment was cancelled after one season of thirteen episodes, but after the first season and unplanned series finale episode, “Path to Paradise,” was already in the can.
Still, showrunner Julie Plec (The Vampire Diaries; The Originals) says viewers will get some closure from the Atlanta-set quarantine drama, starring David Gyasi, Christina Marie Moses, Chris Wood Kristen Gutoskie, Claudia Black, George Young, Hanna Mangan-Lawrence, and Trevor St. John. [“Path to Paradise”] is “the culmination of the conflict between Lex and Lommers,” executive producer Julie Plec previews. “[It’s about] her role in the conspiracy, his feelings about it, and their disparate notions about how far they need to go to protect the people inside the cordon.”
While Lommers is “going to great lengths to prevent anybody from escaping” the quarantined area, “Jana, Suzy, Quentin, Teresa and Xander are very intent on getting out,” the EP continues. “So there’s going to be something that has to give, or people are going to end up killed.”
As “the outside and inside stories collide,” Plec says the final hour will provide as much wrap-up “as a show that wasn’t expecting to end this way can. It, thankfully, has a very emotional ending that brings a lot of the stories to a place where they were going to live for quite some time if the series were to move forward.
“It doesn’t feel like you’re robbed of an experience,” she adds. “It just feels like it would be nice if you could stick around and watch these people live their lives a while longer.” Despite a few untied-up plot threads, there is “good closure, and it should be a fairly satisfying viewing experience.”

I THINK IT WAS BS THAT THEY CANCELLED SEASON TWO BECAUSE NOW NO ONE KNOWS IF THEY FOUND A CURE OR WHAT HAPPENS TO THE LADY RESPONSIBLE OR IF THEY TAKE THE WALLS DOWN THATS NOT FAIR AND ITS COMPLETLY WRONG OF THEM TO HAVE CANCLLED SEASON TWO THEY NEED TO ALLOW SEASON TWO TO BE BROUGHT OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Waiting for a second season and I’m so late to the party finding out it’s been cancelled!?!?! Above asks: Should it have been cancelled? NO! Huge fan of the Originals and TVD. Then, comes along an epidemic containment and you pull the plug?!? Can only hope you read the other comments and realize it’s time to get back to work and bring this series back. Thanks!
The show is too good for CW!!! Another channel should pick it up!! Perhaps AMC, Showtime, HBO, Netflix, Hulu??? Viewers have been drown in and want more. The show’s creator needs pursue other options!!!

I thought it was a great first season. I was able to sit down and watch it and could not stop. It should really be brought back atleast to ended it properly.

Omg I so love this so it was one of the best shows iv seen!! Didn’t get bored once and so cried when Katie died!! After it ended iv waited for season 2 to come out and to find out it’s been cancelled!!! Really!!! Do you know how many shows iv watched just to find out it’s been cancelled!!! I’m in shock so would have loved to see another season!!
All of these comments are so accurate.. I struggled so much with the fact that Containment was cancelled. I actually can’t describe the beauty and emotional provocation of this show and I hate that the world only got to see one season.
I’m sitting here watching Katie did and I’m crying my eyes out. What a mistake cancelling this show is!!!!! Bring pulled in like this is what makes a show so good!!!

This was a great show and shouldnt have been cancelled… CW cancels most of its great shows like the Secret Circle & keeps stupid stuff like super girl & the flash… IDK WTH they are doing over there but someone needs to take over the network that knows what they’re doing…
This was the best show I’ve ever watched. It was really heart broking when I heard the show was cancelled. So if the person who made the containment show is reading this, I really hope that you bring the show back.
So sorry to hear this show was cancelled after watching first season on Netflix. It was heart-wretchingly good. So many individual stories makes one invested in the show. Great writing and acting! Loved it! So realistic it’s scary,
I just binge watched this show over the last couple days. I have laugh, cried and simply pulled jn to this show. The acting was great. The story was well written. Then BAM! I find out it was cancelled. I am Scott October sick and tired of finding good shows only to have them cancelled.
I’m inlove with this show, I’m so upset it was not coming back. I’ve been on bed rest almost my entire pregnancy and it’s what kept me entertained and I couldn’t stop watching it, I wish it could come back I really want to see what happens next. It shocked me when I found out it was cancelled. The actors/actresses and directors did an amazing job and I’m so sad it didn’t get more ratings.
