For the first time since the 2008 writers strike, veteran crime drama CSI won’t have a full season of episodes. CBS has reportedly decided to cut season 15’s order from 22 to 18 installments.
The original CSI continues to follow Las Vegas crime scene investigators as they try to solve bizarre cases. This season’s castmates are Ted Danson, Elisabeth Shue, George Eads, Jorja Fox, Eric Szmanda, Robert David Hall, Wallace Langham, David Berman, Elisabeth Hamois, and Jon Wellner.
The ratings are understandably down year-to-year, thanks to CSI’s move to Sunday nights when start-times often get pushed thanks to football over-runs. Still, the numbers aren’t bad compared to previous year’s timeslot occupants.
The episode trim is supposedly due to the network having too much programming waiting in the wings. New series CSI: Cyber will take over the Sundays at 10pm timeslot later in the season. The network also has the seventh (and final) season of The Mentalist and Vince Gilligan’s new series Battle Creek.
What do you think? Are you still watching the original CSI? Do you think this is a bad sign for the show’s future or just a case of limited timeslots.
There you go, have a great show, change of actors keeping it fresh, so you cancel it for CSI Cyber (it is for 12 yr olds). CSI, NCIC are a couple of my favorite shows. Why not drop CSI Cyber and add BUGS BUNNY, Both you know the ending when it starts. That that’s all folks
I don’t care if you give us an entire 16th season or not, but for God’s sake wrap up all the cliff hangers. As the show that launched a new genre and is responsible for at least 7 hit series following a similar format, and being the number one show in the world you owe the fans a resolution of the show’s plot lines. Will D.B.and wife make that long awaited move back to Seattle; will Jules come out of her coma or will she die; Will Greg and Morgan find love at long last. CBS needs to order enough… Read more »
That new CSI Cyber is for the birds. Not interesting at all. Bring back Ted Danson and crew, that was a good show. Besides its serious side it had some great comedic lines thrown in. Good all round entertainment.
Amen! I LOVE CSI. I think they needed to keep CSI LV and move it back to a night that people watch. Most don’t want to wait for the football game to end so they can see their show. So, DVR it or watch “On Demand” of course the ratings will seem awful. You’d think they would take that into consideration! Oh well, another GREAT show cancelled after years of fan following. I don’t get it! Money means more than fans do!
keep CSI on its a good show
Just let us know CSIs future one day or another.
CSI was a piece of crap, keep on CSI at least it has stories worth watching, I think at least another season
I think it’s a great show. Will miss it greatly! CSI Cyber not worth it. Please bring it back!
Because CSI Las Vegas is no longer on, I do not watch CBS on Sunday nights. It was the only draw that CBS had on Sunday nights. What is on now, isn’t worth anything.
I have watched CSI Las Vegas since it started. It has always been a good show IMO. Got off track for a while but came back much improved. Hate that CBS is going to cancel. Tried to watch CSI Cyber, couldn’t make it through to even the halfway mark. Waste of time. Please consider keeping CSI Las Vegas. Hate football, too much of it on TV. So many programs are becoming ridiculous now. Who are you trying to appeal to? Sad to say, the weather channel is more interesting at this time.
I think CBS & ABC are total junk networks. I’ve quit watching Revenge, Scandal, How to Get Away with Murder, Agents of Shield and a few other shows off of both networks. I’m sick and tired of trying to even figure out when they’re going to show another episode. With Revenge it came on for maybe 10 episodes, gone completely for 2 months, back for 2 episodes then gone again. It’s pretty much the same for Agents of Shield and Scandal as well. With Shield they just put in some other sorry stupid Marvel show. Pretty soon TV will be… Read more »
….And yes they should keep CSI. The new CSI Cyber isn’t all that great. At least not enough to pull Stalker off.
I don’t have a problem with CSI being canceled. We have had 15 great season, more than most. The original cast was held in tact for 9 years. Almost unheard of in today’s quick money grab. And after 15 years most story lines have been played out. What I do object to is the treatment this rating winner received in season 15. A shortened season season, a horrible time slot and the season ending on a very suspenseful cliff hanger. In spite of all of this, the episodes were excellent and very suspenseful. I dont mind CBS taking it off… Read more »
Please don’t axe CSI Vegas!!!my family and I HV been watching it since 2003.our neighbors got us into it oddly Enid and since then we HV ban hooked.we even moved to las Vegas just becouse the show made it seem so interesting.well after getting here life is actually pretty normal to point of boring .sometimes when I’m out and about I think”how could they make a number one hit TV show that’s ban on the air all these years based on this town??it would be really nice if CBS would at least keep it hoping a few more years and… Read more »
