Year-to-year, the premiere was down by 10% with a 1.8 in the 18-49 demographic and 10.68 million viewers. It was in second place for the timeslot. Last season, there was a lot of speculation that CSI: NY was going to be cancelled (mainly because of its advanced age and lower ratings) but it survived. If the series can’t sustain or improve on these latest numbers, it would seem likely that it’s going be cancelled in the spring.
Reference point: The 2010-11 season averaged a 1.8 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 10.3 million viewers.
Note: These ratings are collected by the Nielsen company and are the final national numbers. These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings and are reported on by most other outlets. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.
What do you think? Do you like the CSI: NY TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or be renewed for a ninth season?

SORRY GARY SINESE IS A BETTER FIT WITH SELA WARD AND MEGAN DOBBS NEEDS TO LEAVE AND MAC AND JOE SHOULD GET MARRIOED
Yes, I miss seeing CSI NY as well as CSI Miami. There is so much trash on TV these days looking at these two shows have always been a joy to watch. Please do not cancel CSI NY yet,

How ridiculous and laughable a plot is this? So at the end Mac will find her, realize that he can’t live without her, and they can elope in a Vegas casino and get married by the local Elvis Presley impersonator?! What are the writers doing to this show?! Haven’t they learned yet that these relationships… Read more »
