It’s the end of the line for the Dallas TV show — for the second time. TNT has announced that they’ve cancelled the new Dallas TV show after three seasons.
A continuation of the successful CBS series from the 1970s, 80s and 90s, Dallas follows the machinations of two generations of the dysfunctional and powerful Ewing clan. The cast includes Josh Henderson, Jesse Metcalfe, Jordana Brewster, Julie Gonzalo, Brenda Strong, Patrick Duffy, Linda Gray, Mitch Pileggi, Emma Bell, Kuno Becker, and Juan Pablo Di Pace.
Year-to-year, season three of Dallas was down by 26% in viewership and down by 38% in the 18-49 demographic. It’s one of TNT’s lowest-rated scripted series and that certainly wasn’t a good sign for its chances of a fourth season.
In a statement, TNT said, “We are extremely proud of the series, which defied expectations by standing as a worthy continuation of the Ewing saga. We want to thank everyone involved with the show, from the extraordinary cast to the impeccable production team, led by the show’s creative forces, Cynthia Cidre and Mike Robin. We especially want to thank the people of Dallas for their warm and generous hospitality during the production of the series.”
Cidre and the writers have been working on scripts and ideas for a fourth season of Dallas so hopefully she’ll share what would have happened at some point.
What do you think? Will you miss the Ewings? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a fourth season? Would you watch it on another channel?
My husband, mother & I really enjoyed watching Dallas. This is the best show on TV.
IT NEEDS TO BE BROUGHT BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
PLEASE DON’T DISCONTINUE THIS.
Yes please bring Dallas back it is very good I watched every Monday night
My husband & I loved watching Dallas!! Hope someone picks
It up .
Dallas has always been the only show that literally leaves me on the edge of my chair. The show flows seamlessly and the suspense, moment by moment is like riding a roller coaster in your living room. I am so sad that Dallas was not renewed.
The characters were larger than life. Please bring it back.
Bring Dallas back for a proper ending.
They should bring back Dallas and quit fooling around with these less than watchable shows that probably cost pennies to produce. Pennies to produce but no one watches them.
Bring back a real drama…bring back Dallas.
Please find some way to bring Dallas back!! Love that show. Needed more advertising to know when the last season started. I almost missed it. I had my DVR set to record all shows or I would have.
I am so disappointed, I love this show…..
What did the viewers want ? It was one of the best show made. A real change from vampires, super national, and shows that is just a little far fetch. They produce shows that end up on the nightly new instead.
I really hate that Dallas is going off the air. You know I understand you have to do according to the ratings and such. But I feel it is unfair to end it without some sort of closure. You left us hanging on the edge of our seats with many cliffhangers at the end of season 3. I speak on behalf of many of us viewers when I humbly ask that you please reconsider Dallas for another season. If toward the end of the 4th season the ratings are the same or worse then give the cast and crew time… Read more »
I will watch Dallas no mater what network its on, I just want Dallas back!
I am so disappointed to see Dallas go. Please find a channel to have it on!
Please bring Dallas back,I have watched it since 1970s !
That’s a real bummer cancelling Dallas. Shouldn’t have been. There is a huge amount of fans that miss this show. It would be smart and good to bring it back.
I think they had no plans on keeping the saga going after JR passed. Which I think is very arrogant way of thinking It was more than just that ONE CHARACTER I will say How all of us loved JR. (Hagman). I think its unfair to the rest of the cast that poured their hearts and souls into portraying these characters. The third season didn’t have any publicity or much advertisement for the viewers to know when it was even beginning. Ive had to purchase the third season just to see what happened. Im disappointed in the Network. I wish… Read more »
