It’s the end of the line for the Dallas TV show — for the second time. TNT has announced that they’ve cancelled the new Dallas TV show after three seasons.
A continuation of the successful CBS series from the 1970s, 80s and 90s, Dallas follows the machinations of two generations of the dysfunctional and powerful Ewing clan. The cast includes Josh Henderson, Jesse Metcalfe, Jordana Brewster, Julie Gonzalo, Brenda Strong, Patrick Duffy, Linda Gray, Mitch Pileggi, Emma Bell, Kuno Becker, and Juan Pablo Di Pace.
Year-to-year, season three of Dallas was down by 26% in viewership and down by 38% in the 18-49 demographic. It’s one of TNT’s lowest-rated scripted series and that certainly wasn’t a good sign for its chances of a fourth season.
In a statement, TNT said, “We are extremely proud of the series, which defied expectations by standing as a worthy continuation of the Ewing saga. We want to thank everyone involved with the show, from the extraordinary cast to the impeccable production team, led by the show’s creative forces, Cynthia Cidre and Mike Robin. We especially want to thank the people of Dallas for their warm and generous hospitality during the production of the series.”
Cidre and the writers have been working on scripts and ideas for a fourth season of Dallas so hopefully she’ll share what would have happened at some point.
What do you think? Will you miss the Ewings? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a fourth season? Would you watch it on another channel?
PLEASE BRING DALLAS BACK!!!! I love this show, if Dallas does not come back on TNT I will boycott this channel by never watching it again. Dallas was the only show that you had on your line up that I would watch anyway.
Cancel Dallas?????? This stinks…maybe another network will pick it up and boost their ratings.. always another scheme. Made my week.
Dallas was my favorite. Always another scheme. I marked my calender when it would start again..this really stinks. Hopefully another network will pick it up and boost their ratings
Why have Dallas when you can rerun Law and Order . I missed Dallas.
Please get Dallas back on TV!! It was my favorite show. Just tell me where and when and I’ll watch it.
I’m so sorry TNT that this is the only show that’s ever watched on your stupid network! You honestly just took the best show ever away from everyone and you should be ashamed I honestly hope that ABC picks this show up because its damn awesome. Here’s an idea TNT maybe not play it at 9 o’clock at night and people probably would have watched it more you’re a disgrace! Someone needs to pull you as a network period! A Dallas fan here signing out
Please bring back Dallas. I think the reason for low viewers was not the storyline or the show at all!!! It was the time slot. I am on the West coast and it played at 11 pm once a week. For people that are at work for 4 in the morning that is just too late. I liked the few episodes I was able to watch so much I bought all 3 seasons from amazon at once and am now left with a CLIFFHANGER. Please bring it back and continue the storyline where it was
Very very disappointed! ! ! I would definitely watch Dallas no matter what channel it was on. I loved it.
I Can’t believe Dallas has been cancelled. It was the best drama series on TV network or cable. Yes I would watch it on another network hands down.
This show was better than Scandal. Each episode kept me wanting more. I could not wait to see another season. Wow! You canceled a good one. Bring it back please–with the same writers. They kept me at the edge of my seat.!
Someone please pick up Dallas!!
So, TNT, you’ve cancelled Dallas. That’s a real shame. What do you have left for us to watch now? Absolutely nothing. That’s right, There’s nothing there worth a nickle.
Are you happy that no one watches your network now? Fine work by idiots to do this.
I haven’t watched your network since… There’s just nothing there. Please bring back Dallas.
Dallas is the best show on TV, I just found out. I really think another network should pick it up.
Another network should pick up this phenomenal show. Best show on tv since the original Dallas. I would watch it anywhere.
No Dallas. That stinks. Please some smart network pick it up.
