Time has run out for CBS’ science-based drama. Based on a British series of the same name, the network has cancelled Eleventh Hour after 18 episodes.
Eleventh Hour revolves around a team of scientists and FBI agents who work to solve strange crimes that involve science and possible paranormal activity. The drama stars Rufus Sewell, Marley Shelton, and Omar B. Miller.
Debuting on October 9, 2008, the show started out with an audience of 11.37 million viewers and a 3.2/9 rating/share of the 18-49 demographic. The season ended up averaging about 12 million. While that looks fine on its own, the series consistently lost a large percentage of its CSI lead-in.
The show’s been “on the bubble” for awhile and now, the network has decided to cancel it. All of the show’s episodes have aired and there’s been no word on a DVD release.

I agree with Marie (previous post). i guess eleventh hour was just too sophisticated for CBS execs. Eleventh hour was a smart and witty show that provoked thought. A smarter version of House, without the same repetitive banter of almost kill the patient – make a miraculous discovery, which continues to air. Its very sad to me that CBS couldn’t see the novelty of this show, rather than showing reality show after reality show after CSI spin-off.
I guess “Eleventh Hour” was to sophisticated for CBS executives, they must think those stupid realitiy shows are what the general public wants. Perhaps it is cheaper to put dripple on TV rather than something that stimulates thought and education at the same time. To bad, it was most enjoyable and interesting.
ican anyone pleaase post CSI’s views? no-one likes miami beacuse of david caruso and CSI:Las Vegas(original) lost the best character. i’m sure that from this fall CBS will be losin a lot of people
Here we go again, a show that looses viewers because it is a diffrent type of show than its lead in and suddenly its ‘Bad’. Its popular on DVRs,PVRs,and fileshareing and was top 5. But because it was timeshifted or they have no way to track it for advertisers it isn’t worth renewing. I sincerly hope someone gives this show a good chance in syndication with MUCH better promotion. For crying out loud I had to keep explaining to people that it wasn’t about WWII and it wasn’t some reality show… and it still got good ratings. give me a… Read more »
Ok here I go again…first it was without a trace..then Cold case and now eleventh hr…
Well I guess I won’t be watching cbs this fall……why not cancell csi miami…I’m sick of it…standing there in his suit and sunglasses looking like daddy cool
What the Hell!! Everytime I like a show it gets cancelled. Get rid of Without a Trace–Old Christine and yes CSI sucks since Grissom left and Horaito is driving me crazy with his holier than now attitude. Bring back Eleventh Hour!!!!
I can’t believe they are cancelling 11th Hour!! It was a good show but, I guess since it wasn’t a CSI spinoff, they won’t give it the time to show.
Does this really surprise me…it is CBS. They keep crap on like the Mentalist or Medium and get rid of a good show. I have lost all respect for CBS. CBS keps some of the older, more outdated shows going like New Adv of Old Christine, The Unit or Without a Trace, which are clearly past their primes. It is unfortuate. Maybe another networkd will ‘get smart’. Not a CBS Fan!
I just don’t understand CBS. They get a show worth watching and they cancel it. It seems that they have a problem with shows that are different then their regular line-up. Don’t get me wrong, I love all the CSI’s & Numbers, Without A Trace, & Criminal Minds but Eleventh Hour was different. It showed us the scientific side of the how & why. It gave us a diferent view not just the same one. They did the same thing with the show Cane. That show was diferent & they canceled that too. That was a really good show too.
This is so infuriating! There’s 100 HORRIBLE shows on TV and when good ones come out, CBS cancels them. Moonlight was AMAZING and so was Eleventh Hour. Is CBS trying to go into the toilet? Cause if they are, they’re succeeding!
this it´s not fair!!!
why CBS always cancell the good series??? first Moonlight and now this?
i´m a afraid for the rest of the shows now
Thinking this fall I have reserved my seasonal seat every Thursday 10 pm in front of my telly……then wondering why Roof is away shooting for Pillar instead of EH…..then wondering with all of those fall previews ” why did I see no EH ? “……then found out it’s been cancelled just now……talking about being the last one to know….because with its number of fans I didn’t bother to check or worry of deselection ever !!! What a shame….so many Sci-Fi too little Sci-Fact…..if there’s any left…..like EH ? Hopefully other network will step up and appreciate the 12 millions of… Read more »
I cannot believe you cancelled this show, yet soo many CSI shows it makes ones eyes water to see your schedule. I have never watched spin-off except CSI Miami, nor will I ever. The original CSI is not worth watching since “Grissom” left. At least you have left Numbers and CSI miami your schedule is not very- no not at all appealing. I will be tuning in twice weekly-Monday and Friday, Susan
Why keep the mentalist and get rid of a better show like 11th hour. If they wouldn’t have a commerical break every five minutes maybe viewers could enjoy the plot
WHAT!!! it’s cancelled what is it with cancelling all the good shows what is it with CBS first moonlight and now this I mean come on what’s wrong with them 11H is a great show and so was moonlight it won for best new show in the people’s choice awards apparently CBS does’nt like shows that have a big fanbase or great ratings.
CBS has problems!!!!!
