CBS is hosting Friday Night Dinner. Deadline reports the network is developing an adaptation of the UK sitcom.
The original Channel 4 series follows the antics that occur during a family’s weekly Friday night dinner. The cast includes Tamsin Greig, Paul Ritter, Simon Bird, and Tom Rosenthal.
King of Queens co-creator Michael Weithorn is writing the U.S. version alongside former Modern Family EP Dan O’Shannon. This is the third time the show has been adapted for U.S. television after CBS made an attempt two years ago and NBC tried in 2011 with The Office‘s Greg Daniels.
