In a similar vein to what Smallville has done for the Superman mythos, Merlin updates the legend of the sorcerer from Arthurian legend for a new audience. The TV show follows a young Merlin as he secretly watches over the court of King Uther and a young Arthur. The series stars Colin Morgan as Merlin, Bradley James as Prince Arthur, Anthony Head as King Uther, Katie McGrath as Morgana, Angel Coulby as Gwen, Richard Wilson as Gaius, and John Hurt as the voice of the Great Dragon.
Last summer, Merlin ran on NBC. The series wasn’t a big success for the peacock network but, thankfully for the show’s fans, it’s successful enough in England for the BBC to keep making the show. NBC cancelled the show in the US but it moved over to Syfy for season two. BBC One has already ordered a third round.

Merlin is the best character
My favorite character is Arthur. He is complex and captivating. He is the dutiful son, but he is also a king in the making who follows his own sense of justice. He has pride, but also a big heart. He is a good friend and a worthy opponent. He is still maturing and often stumbles at first, but comes through in the end. He clearly will make a great king.

My favorite character is Gaius–played by Richard Wilson. He reminds me of my aunt.
My favorite character is the dragon. He sees the future and keeps the overall future destiny of Arthur and Merlin in our minds.
Uther Pendragon is my favorite character, sure he’s paranoid and thinks that sorcerers are lurking around every corner trying to use their magic for their own ends (again) but he brings perspective to the other characters.
I find that Arthur is one of the more intriguing characters on the show. He started off as completely arrogant and I was initially surprised that they would make Arthur so one-dimensional. But thankfully I was wrong! He has undergone some of the most, if not the most, character development on the show so far and I can’t wait to see where he will end up.

Arthur is the best! His pride and insecurity cause him to hide his heart under a mask of toughness, but those who look close enough will see his heart of gold.
My favorite character on the show is Morgana. I love how she starts out as being a really likeable character, but as most people know from stories she’ll become the evil Morgan Le Fay and I can’t wait to see in Season 2 on Syfy how she starts to embrace more of her magical powers. I did not think I’d enjoy the show at first, but as it progressed it became more interesting. I love all the twists with all the major characters!
My faviote character is Gwen, I luv the special effects on the show and I just luv the whole show it self. Seeing the interaction btwn King Aurther and Merlin and Gwen is great.
Definitely it’s Richard Wilson, who plays Gaius – what a great character actor!

My favorite character in the show Merlin is Merlin’s mentor. I believe his name is Gaius. I;ve only seen the first episode so winning this prize would give me a chance to get caught up on the series.
