Becca Winstone’s chase is over. ABC has cancelled Missing, their Thursday night TV series, after one season and 10 episodes.
Starring Ashley Judd, Missing follows a former CIA Agent turned single mom as she searches for her missing son in Europe. The action show also stars Adriano Giannini, Nick Eversman, Cliff Curtis, Tereza Voriskova, and Sean Bean.
Missing got off to a disappointing start on March 15th, registering a 2.1 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 10.60 million viewers. It was in third place for the demo and second place in total viewership.
In week two, the numbers took a significant drop, to a 1.6 rating with 8.81 million. Over the next several weeks, Missing fell lower and lower. The most recent episode hit a new low with a 1.1 demo rating and 6.37 million total viewers.

Overall, Missing’s been averaging a 1.5 rating with 7.70 million viewers. If they had more episodes in the season, those averages would surely keep sinking lower.
On our ABC Ratings Report Card, which measures the relative demo success of TV shows on the network, Missing has a “D-” for a grade. Of the 22 scripted shows on the network this season, Missing ranks 21st — just above the already-cancelled Charlie’s Angels remake.
With low ratings and steep declines, it’s no wonder that ABC decided not to renew Missing for a second season.
The series finale airs next Thursday and will hopefully include enough closure to satisfy the viewers that stuck with it.

This was a great show, with drama, suspense, action, and even more so intelligence. It is truly a shame the viewing public can’t appreciate a quality show such as this. It seems that all we want is the silly, no plot, reality show entertainment.
I really liked this show. I loved the intensity and every turn it took. I wish there was a season two for now the Mom is shot, missing…

I cannot believe that ABC is cancelling this show! OMG I love it! It is great acting and an original show! I hope that ABC will change this and keep it around!

I am so disappointed missing is cancelled. This show was riveting and kept my husband and I on the edge of our seat. ABC needs to get a clue as to what is a good show and what is not. However,they decide to keep “no brainer” shows such as the Bachelor and Bachelorette because that is soooooo much better. Hopefully, another network will pick it up. We are realy enjoying the tv show Missing, so are sorry to see it go, I don’t think the net works give shows enough time to get going, everything has to be instantanious , such a shame.

simply stated, we live in a fast food intelect environment…will probably be replaced by a really show, perhaps devouring banyon tree roots.
I loved the locations it was shot in and it really held my attention. Look how long The Fugitive was on the air! I know my other people my age have been watching every week. Granted we are boomers and not in our 30’s but our say does matter. I think if it aired later like 8 or 9 pm CST it would have done better. The acting was great and the cast were very good looking. Give it another chance at a later time slot. The people I know here in Chicagoland like it.
I am so PIST OFF. Missing is one of the best shows that I have seen in a long time. Ashley Judd is so great as an actress in Missing. I feel that Missing could have continued for another 3 to 4 seasons. To find out from my husband that Missing was cancelled, I cried. I love this television show. Very upset. Need at least one more season and the door is open based on the finale. Excellent suspense, acting and all the beautiful locations.
This is such an exciting, excellent show! It keeps you guessing and there are so many twists. Can’t believe they would cancel it. Insane!

Absolutely love Missing. It was a great show, I wish abc would bring it back ! Every time I find a great show it gets cancelled! Hopefully another network will pick it up!!
